Lowering costs is a priority in Queens.
25% tariffs on our largest trading partners will raise prices on essentials, like gas & groceries.
A trade war will be a disaster for hardworking families.
This #WomensHistoryMonth, we celebrate all the women who have strengthened our nation and inspired generations of women and girls.
Although we've made progress, our fight for equality is far from over. As a @demwomencaucus.bsky.social member, I'm proud to honor the trailblazers who came before us.
I'm hosting a telephone town hall on March 5th at 7:00pm EST! Join me, @newyorkstateag.bsky.social, AFGE & @democracyforward.org to ask questions & learn more about what we're doing to confront the challenges NYers face under the new administration.

Joint Statement from the Tri-Caucus Chairs on President Trump’s Executive Order Declaring English as the Official Language of the United States:
Thank you to Luke Graziani of #Woodside for accepting my invitation. These mass firings are unconscionable, and his attendance will send a message that the cuts are completely unacceptable. 2/2
To stand against the mass firings of federal employees, a U.S. Army #veteran from #Queens terminated from his job at a NYC veterans hospital, will be my guest for the President's address to Congress on Tuesday. 1/2
What happened in the Oval Office today was not America First. It was America Alone.
When America is isolated from our European allies, we are less safe, less strong, and less prosperous.
I will continue to stand with Ukraine against Putin and Russia.
Ramadan Mubarak to our Muslim community in Queens and those around the world. May this holy month be a time of prayer and reflection with your family, neighbors and loved ones.

My full statement on the administration’s decision to fire hundreds of public servants at @noaa.gov 👇
ConEd's proposed double-digit rate hike is unacceptable. NY families cannot afford to pay hundreds more for gas & electric.
My NY colleagues & I sent a letter to ConEd urging the utility against putting this burden on New Yorkers who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Great news! More than 3.2M retired teachers, firefighters, police officers, & letter carriers are already receiving the benefits they are owed thanks to President Biden's Social Security Fairness Act.
I'm happy to see this money back in the pockets of our hardworking public servants.
Gun violence remains the leading cause of death for kids & teens across the country.
That's unacceptable.
It was an honor to meet with @gabbygiffords.bsky.social on Capitol Hill this week to talk about how we can continue working together to address this dangerous epidemic.
Veterans make up 30% of the federal workforce. The administration has already fired 6,000 of them, with even more fearing that their positions will be cut next.
The GOP is betraying the brave men & women who have sacrificed everything to serve our nation.
Mail theft is persistent in Forest Hills. After thieves broke into 4 relay boxes, I called on the USPS to repair & upgrade the locks.
I'm glad to see that the Postal Service secured the boxes. However, all mailboxes in Queens should be properly locked to prevent these crimes from taking place.
In my district, the Medicaid "concern" means that 279,473 people, including 88,005 kids, are at risk of losing Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program coverage.
The GOP budget will take away health care coverage from kids & families to support tax cuts for billionaires.
Last week, my NY colleagues & I were outraged by staffing cuts at the World Trade Center Health Program. After sending a letter to Secretary Kennedy, I'm relieved to see that personnel were restored.
We cannot turn our backs on the brave first responders who answered the call on 9/11.
Tonight the House is voting on a GOP budget that cuts Medicaid & Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, cuts SNAP benefits, & increases ACA health care costs to support tax cuts for the wealthy.
Republicans are putting billionaires over babies.
I'm voting NO.
Three years ago, Russia launched an unprovoked, illegal invasion of Ukraine.
Today, the US voted against a UN resolution condemning the war.
This is unconscionable. I will always stand with Ukraine and its people against Putin's destruction.
I'm proud to see Queens women shattering the glass ceiling.
Sending a warm congratulations to Battalion Chief Michele Fitzsimmons as she becomes the first-ever female @fdny.bsky.social Deputy Chief and the highest-ranking woman in fire operations.
