Analysis Shows All Savings from Republican Cuts Come from Benefit Cuts, Terminating Health Coverage, and Payment Cuts for Doctors, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Home Care Providers-Not "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse"

Washington, D.C. - Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and House Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., today released a letter from the non-partisan, independent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) which analyzed several Republican proposals that would cut Medicaid. CBO's analysis shows that Republicans plan to cut Americans' health benefits, kick them off of their health insurance, and slash payments to providers that are
I'm demanding an investigation into the Trump administration's apparent use of the knockoff Signal app, TeleMessage. Senior government officials using a shoddy, foreign-owned communications app poses massive national security and counterintelligence threats.

My team and I have been investigating Credit Suisse's tax evasion scheme for years. This week we got results: the bank has been ordered to pay hundreds of millions in fines, and now I'm calling for criminal prosecution of the bankers that made it happen.

The Senate votes tomorrow on Trump's pick to lead Social Security. Trump and Musk are putting us on a glidepath to privatization, and Frank Bisignano is the yes-man that will help them do it. Republicans will be to blame when seniors and folks with disabilities start missing checks.

Very narrowly lost the vote on this. This was a chance for the Senate to put American businesses, farmers, workers and producers first. Most Republicans chose Trump. I’m not done, I will keep at this until we repeal Trump’s disastrous tariffs.
Later today the Senate will vote on my bipartisan legislation to end Trump’s tariffs. This has a real chance of passing. I encourage everyone to make your voices heard with your Senators if you feel strongly about this issue. I’ll be working to get it across the finish line. More soon.

Spent the last week holding town halls in deeply rural and red parts of Oregon. The message is clear: people are scared and angry, not knowing if their way of life will be next on Trump’s chopping block. Trump is losing support and trust across the country.

I have a bipartisan bill that would make these protections ironclad. It passed the House unanimously (twice) and it was never taken up in the Senate. Now Trump is laying the groundwork to lock up reporters who don't rat out their sources who expose crimes by his administration.

Working on some projects regarding immigration and the upcoming World Cup. @wyden.senate.gov is appealing to the administration to look at the impact on travel: apnews.com/article/immi... Wyden asks Trump administration officials to reconsider travel policies ahead of the World Cup
Trump's nominee to head up CBP was involved in an alleged cover-up and obstruction of investigations into the death of an immigrant in US custody. If true, no one can trust him to be in charge of millions of border searches every day.
Thrilled to be at yesterday’s groundbreaking for the new Women’s Sports Performance Center with Portland Thorns FC and Portland’s new WNBA franchise. And proud to have teamed up with the community to bring the WNBA to Portland. Rip City is now officially WNBA City.

Trump may be abandoning all commitment to human rights protections at home and abroad but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to. I’ll continue doing everything I can to hold regimes like this accountable for exporting violence and lawlessness beyond its borders. More soon.
Last week I traveled to Saudi Arabia where I met face to face with Saudi officials and demanded accountability for the regime’s human rights violations, harboring of fugitives, and the murder of journalists like Jamal Khashoggi.
