America has spoken once again: We have no kings.
I was proud to join our community at one of several “No Kings” demonstrations in #VenturaCounty. Across the nation, millions of Americans stood up against the lawlessness, cruelty, and unchecked power of the Trump administration.

Meet Catharyne. She’s a nurse and she’s fighting to protect her patients from hospital closures.
And so are we. House Democrats are fighting to save health care so that it can remain as accessible and affordable as possible.
It’s childish. It’s reckless. It’s dangerous. The Speaker’s job is to lead, not to hide from responsibility. This is not leadership. It’s egregious negligence.
He also canceled votes for yet another week, giving House Republicans more paid vacation while federal workers, including our troops, continue to work without pay.
Today, he once again refused to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva, denying the people of Arizona’s 7th District their voice in Congress, even with a pro forma session on the calendar.
It’s Day 17 of the Republican shutdown — and it’s another day that Speaker Johnson puts politics before the American people.
My office is actively monitoring this situation, and I will continue working closely with state and local officials to ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of every Ventura County resident are protected.

No agency, including ICE, is above the law and the use of excessive force should never be tolerated.
I have received deeply concerning reports about an aggressive ICE activity that escalated into a vehicle collision in an Oxnard neighborhood. This situation raises serious alarm given the troubling pattern of misconduct and abuse by immigration enforcement officials across the country.
@SpeakerMikeJohnson, you don’t want to be “Mad Mike”?!
Try being one of the 24 million Americans losing their health care or one of the hundreds of thousands of federal employees working without pay because of your Republican shutdown. That’s real cause for being hopping mad.
Donald Trump said it himself: when the government shuts down, the president is responsible for fixing it. This president should take responsibility and start negotiating to reopen the government.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is hiding behind the chaos, wining and dining his billionaire donors while families across the country are opening letters about skyrocketing costs and losing their coverage.
They ripped away health care from millions of Americans, are allowing the biggest premium hike in 15 years, and shut down the government to avoid taking responsibility.
It’s Day 16 of the Republican shutdown – and Republicans are failing to address the full-blown health care crisis they created.
Now more than ever, Congress must not turn its back on America’s seniors. That’s why I’ll keep fighting to protect the investments that make the work of organizations like Senior Concerns possible – because our seniors and caregivers deserve nothing less.
The Trump administration’s reckless cuts to federal funding are making things worse – stripping health care, dismantling senior social services programs, and gutting the food assistance they rely on.
But as the cost of living climbs and our senior population grows, it’s becoming harder for older adults to find affordable housing and access basic care.
From connecting families with vital resources to coordinating meal deliveries to providing high-quality adult day care, Senior Concerns is meeting the needs of our aging community and rising to the challenges of the “silver tsunami.”
