I will continue fighting for the dedicated public servants who protect these irreplaceable treasures. Our parks, our environment, and future generations depend on it.

Our national parks are more than just beautiful landscapes – they are economic engines, essential ecosystems, and a core part of who we are as Americans. We cannot and will not allow this administration to dismantle and destroy them for political gain.
But it’s not just our parks under threat – these cuts cripple wildfire prevention efforts, leaving our communities more vulnerable to catastrophic fires, and they gut climate protections when we need them most.
Over 4,000 park and forest workers have already been fired, including more than 10% of Channel Islands’ staff. These outrageous cuts mean fewer rangers, shuttered programs, and deteriorating trails and facilities.
The Trump Administration’s cuts to the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service are putting places like the Channel Islands – and the people who protect them – in grave danger.
Today marks the 45th anniversary of Channel Islands National Park – a stunning national treasure and a vital part of our community’s identity. But instead of celebrating, we’re forced to sound the alarm.
Our veterans deserve leaders who honor their service and stand by them – not betray and abandon them for political gain. I will never stop fighting to ensure the VA fulfills its mission to care for those who served our nation in uniform.
Spearheaded by Elon Musk, this shameful action is nothing less than an attempt to dismantle the VA, jeopardizing critical services our veterans rely on. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will not stand by while veterans pay the price for this outrageous and disrespectful plan.
The Trump Administration’s reckless plan to fire 83,000 VA employees is a direct attack on our veterans and their care. Trump’s dangerous directive puts the health and well-being of our nation’s heroes at risk – a blatant betrayal of the promises made to those who served.
The American people deserve leaders who put country over party — leaders who fight for working families, defend our democracy, and tell the truth, no matter how difficult.
Rather than offering real solutions to the challenges working families face every day, the President once again chose to spread dangerous lies, sow division, and attack the very foundations of our democracy.
Tonight, I walked out of the chamber during President Trump’s address because I could not, in good conscience, dignify a speech so detached from reality and so disrespectful to the American people.
I’m honored to welcome Chief Gardner and to recognize the brave firefighters and first responders across the nation who risk their lives every day to protect our communities.
Federal support for our firefighters and emergency responders is essential — and disaster assistance should never be politicized. When disaster strikes, communities deserve timely, effective federal support, no matter what.
Protecting our communities from wildfires and natural disasters must remain a national priority.
His leadership has been vital not only in Ventura County, but also in coordinating firefighting efforts across California.
Tonight, Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner will join me as my guest at the Joint Session of Congress. Chief Gardner has shown unwavering dedication in protecting Ventura County during some of the most devastating wildfires and emergencies we’ve faced.
Donald Trump’s embarrassing behavior was deeply disrespectful not only to the people of Ukraine, but to the American people and democracies around the world.
As a democracy under siege, the people of Ukraine deserve our unwavering support in their fight for freedom. Their success is directly tied to our national security interests, and the United States must restore this critical partnership and stop rewarding Russian aggression.
