Maria Ellen Cantwell is an American politician serving as the junior U.S. senator from Washington since 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 and in the United States House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995.

The State of Washington is already seeing real-world impacts from sea-level rise, but Sen. Johnson of Wisconsin blocked a Senate resolution to simply recognize the problem. We cannot bury our heads in the sand with so much at risk.
This Administration is waging a war in the Middle East that has sent oil and gas prices through the roof. Every business and every consumer is feeling the pain. Instead of planning a summer vacation, many families are trying to just figure out how to pay their bills. (2/3)
I’m concerned that decreased grocery store competition in local communities is raising food prices. Anti-competitive land restrictions can prevent new grocery stores from moving in. My letter to the FTC:
