Martin Heinrich

Martin Trevor Heinrich is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from New Mexico, a seat he has held since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Heinrich served as the U.S. representative from New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 2009 to 2013. He and fellow senator Ben Ray Luján are the co-deans of New Mexico's congressional delegation.

Last Wednesday, Under Secretary of USDA Moffit joined me at the ABQ South Valley Economic Development Center for a discussion about the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program and supporting local farmers.
Today we broke ground on the largest renewable energy infrastructure project in U.S. history. SunZia will have a massive economic impact, expected to create over 2,000 jobs during construction, support over 100 permanent jobs once online, and generate $20.5 billion in total economic benefits.
