So appreciated being able to hear from everyone at @seattlechildrens.org, UW, and @fredhutch.org today. The research that NIH funds here & across the country delivers real breakthroughs, yes. But also hope for patients and kids like Camden. I'll always fight to protect funding for that hope.
Senator Murray is holding a small painting and looking down and smiling at a little boy with glasses. A woman is smiling at the Senator and standing behind the little boy with her hands on his shoulders. Another woman in a purple blazer is also smiling down at the interaction.
Senator Murray is standing at a podium that says "Seattle Children's on it. There is a woman sitting to the right of the podium that is looking up and smiling at the Senator.
Instead of cutting cancer and Alzheimer’s research by nearly half like Trump wanted—I secured a more than $415 million increase to fund NIH and lifesaving medical research. I said I would tear up Trump's budget and write a new one and that's exactly what I did.
I don't care if Stephen Miller wants ICE to be able to beat up, shoot, or detain citizens. In America, we believe in due process. We believe in our Constitution. We believe in law and order—safe streets, law enforcement we can trust. If you don’t like that? Go to Russia.
Should we be letting any weirdo with an iPhone into our child care centers asking to see proof of kids? Of course not. But that is what is happening. And Trump is promoting it! That's NOT a serious way to uncover fraud in this country, and it's putting our children in harms way.
The SAVE America Act would impose outrageous voter suppression requirements on American citizens. One example: married women who take their spouse’s name & whose last name may not match their birth certificate. Do they not get to vote? This bill is DOA in the Senate.
I voted NO on Republicans' plan to extend funding for a rogue Department of Homeland Security. Democrats are at the table and ready to pass a bill that actually reins in ICE and CBP. Americans are demanding accountability, and we will settle for nothing less.
So great to meet Izzy—Washington state's very own Special Olympian! Always proud of the athletes representing our incredible state and the work of @2026usagames.bsky.social to bring people together and help them get and stay active.
Senator Murray is standing and smiling next to a young woman who has multiple ribbons and lanyards around her neck. They are standing in a room with purple walls, in front of a tapestry, a wooden cabinet, and a row of black leather chairs.
From the Congressional Budget Office: Foreign countries pay 5% of Trump's tariffs — Americans, YOU, pay the other 95%. These TAXES on working families are driving up prices and making life unaffordable.
If I were the Chair of the Senate HELP Committee, I would have moved to subpoena RFK Jr. a LONG time ago, but the next best time is NOW. I'm pressing Chair Cassidy on this: what happened to those quarterly oversight hearings? It's well past time for Congress to step in.
RFK Jr. is now blocking an updated flu vaccine for NO reason grounded in science. American vaccine policy has been hijacked by a conspiracy theorist—yet most Republicans are happy to just sit on their hands. They are allowing FDA policy to be dictated by DELUSION.
Hey @mayorofseattle.bsky.social—tens of millions in funding for child care and housing are headed your way! I said I'd tear up Trump's budget and write a new one, so that's what I did. The spending bills I negotiated outright REJECT Trump's awful housing & homelessness funding cuts.
Senator Murray and Seattle Mayor, Katie Wilson, are sitting and smiling in conversation. They're seated around a coffee table and there is a large wooden table and chairs behind them.
You've got to take the good news when you can get it, and I'm going to be celebrating our Seahawks for a WHILE. So I just HAD to congratulate our Seahawks on the Senate floor today. Just goes to show you can't spell Washington state without a big W! 💚💙🙌 🙌 🙌💙💚
RFK Jr. has been pushing anti-vax conspiracies for decades, so it's ABSURD to see his colleagues try to pretend that he's actually been pro-vaccines. And this measles outbreak isn't just on RFK Jr.—it's on everyone who enables his dangerous grift.
BASH: Is this measles outbreak a consequence of the administration undermining support for vaccines? DR OZ: I don't believe so. Secretary Kennedy has been advocating for measles vaccines BASH: Oh, come on
Trump & Noem's masked ICE agents aren't going after the worst of the worst—they're randomly targeting innocent people, detaining children, trampling Americans' basic rights, and killing U.S. citizens. This is not even remotely acceptable. ICE & CBP must be reined in.
1 in 30 NIH clinical trials were disrupted by the Trump administration last year. Those are real people, who had their hope for a lifesaving cure delayed for absolutely no reason. I asked NIH's Director what he has to say to those patients. WATCH ⬇️
