Has life gotten better for you since Trump took office? Have costs gone down? No. That’s why Trump wants to shut down the government. That’s why Republicans refuse to negotiate. What they’re doing isn’t working, and they want hardworking Americans to pay the price.
I was so proud to join the Raising the Bar Conference to celebrate Workforce Development Month. I repeated the wise words of Martin Luther King Jr., "Whenever you are engaged in work that serves humanity and is for the building of humanity, it has dignity, and it has worth."
I was honored to join the White Rose Foundation Inc. for the ribbon cutting of their new service center. The White Rose Foundation Inc. continues to keep our community healthy, advocate for the elimination of health disparities, and protect our seniors and their health.
The Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) is a world leader in agricultural research, a model of American exceptionalism, and a standard we can’t afford to lose. The Trump Admin's attempt to close BARC is misguided and wrong. Team Maryland is committed to saving BARC.
This weekend, Comptroller Lierman, Councilwoman Porter, and I heard from scientific researchers about just how dire their situation is thanks to RFK Jr. The cuts this Admin has made on things like cancer and Alzheimer’s research will have consequences for decades to come.
Once again, President Trump and RFK Jr. are abandoning science, spreading conspiracy theories, and betraying American families – especially mothers. For the sake of the American people’s health and future, RFK Jr. must resign or be fired immediately.
Breaking News: In a rambling news briefing, President Trump promoted unproven ties between vaccines, autism and Tylenol use by pregnant women and babies. nyti.ms/46OqOvD
It was such a joy to gather Maryland’s Divine Nine leaders for a night of purpose and unity. Thank you to Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester and Congressman Bobby Scott for joining. In these challenging times, we continue to come together to lead, fight for justice, and spread joy.
It was an honor to be at Howard University to kick off this year’s Gwendolyn S. and Colbert I. King speaker series. To the students: You hold the potential to change this society in impressive ways. Don’t allow the letdowns of others distract or disillusion you.
Changing the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War could cost taxpayers over a billion dollars. I introduced a bill that would require those dollars to come out of Secretary Hegseth's travel budget. Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for vanity projects.
Thank you Lupita Nyong’o and Mandy Moore for your advocacy. We have become so used to telling our daughters to live through pain – it needs to stop. It's time to pass my bipartisan U-FIGHT Act to ensure more research dollars can go to studying fibroids.
I was so honored to speak at the investiture of Judge Stacey Cobb Smith and celebrate her appointment as Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. Prince George’s and Maryland are better off for her service.
I loved meeting with the Transportation Association of Maryland! As Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, I'm working to create transit options that work for Maryland and modernize our infrastructure.
Join me in praying for the students and staff of the U.S. Naval Academy who experienced last night’s lockdown. I’m grateful to hear the Midshipman who was injured is now in stable condition. Thank you to our first responders who acted quickly to keep our Naval Academy safe.
24 years ago, our lives changed forever when terrorists struck the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Today, we remember the sweet memories of the Marylanders and Americans we lost and continue to thank our courageous first responders who risked it all in service to their country.
Our democracy depends on us being able to disagree in peace – there is no room in this country for political violence. No American should be at a grocery store, church, school, or political rally and fear being shot. This is not who we are. Praying for Charlie's loved ones.
