I will do everything I can to fight President Trump's reckless war with Iran. Congress passed a War Powers Resolution to end it. But the President is ignoring that vote, forcing American taxpayers to foot the bill for his blunder.
This is another broken promise to the Tribes who have lived in this region since time immemorial and to the next generation of Americans, who are relying on us to protect these irreplaceable landscapes. I will fight this every step of the way.
Once again, the President has disregarded the wishes of Tribal coalitions, western leaders, and the American people by removing protections for ancestral lands and cultural sites at Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments.
I'm deeply saddened by the loss of the pilot who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect Colorado communities while battling the Gold Mountain Fire. I extend my deepest condolences to the pilot's family, crew, and loved ones.
This new facility will not only nearly double the number of detention beds, but is in a rural location, far from the organizations that offer resources and oversight. I will continue to push for necessary guardrails, critical reforms, and work towards preventing the opening of this facility.
We have seen a complete failure by the Trump Administration in operating ICE detention centers with any decency, accountability or transparency. I’m extremely disheartened they are taking the next step in setting up a new Colorado facility in Hudson.
Congress passed a War Powers Resolution to stop his reckless war of choice – yet Trump continues to ignore it. Iran’s hardline regime is the only winner as Trump keeps digging the hole deeper.
Q: "On Iran, is the ceasefire over? Is the MOU dead?" Trump: "I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them anymore…As far as I'm concerned it's over."
At a time of division and distrust, our task is the same as those who came before us: strengthen our democracy, expand opportunity, and choose the common good over division. Happy Independence Day, Colorado.
Happy Fourth of July, Colorado! As America marks 250 years and Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood, we're reminded that our country has always been one of progress through perseverance.
As many communities continue to face wildfire danger, please celebrate responsibly, follow local fire restrictions, and thank the firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel working through the holiday to keep Colorado safe.
Wishing all Coloradans a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend. Whether you're celebrating at the Greeley Stampede, cheering on the Rockies at Coors Field, or heading to a local parade or festival, I hope you're able to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones this holiday weekend.
Today’s decision is a setback for LGBTQ+ Americans and another cruel step in President Trump’s Supreme Court targeting transgender people. Read my full statement on today's Supreme Court ruling allowing states to ban transgender kids from school sports ⬇️
Birthright citizenship is a cornerstone of our Constitution and rests on the belief that all Americans are equal under the law. Read my full statement on today's Supreme Court decision to protect birthright citizenship against Trump’s heinous attacks ⬇️
We are wishing the injured firefighters a full recovery and thanking everyone—firefighters, first responders, volunteers, and local officials—still on the front lines working to keep Coloradans safe. To all those affected by the fires burning across our state, know that Colorado stands with you.
Our hearts are with the families, loved ones, and communities grieving the loss of Emily Barker, Nick Hutcherson, and Sydney Watson, three wildland firefighters who gave their lives protecting others.
Today, I attended a fire briefing with local, state, and federal officials in Fruita to ensure our firefighters have the resources they need to battle the devastating Snyder Fire in western Colorado.
