The GOP’s Big Ugly Bill deliberately kneecaps clean energy projects that are creating good-paying jobs and lowering energy costs. I won't stand for that. And neither should anyone who claims to care about jobs, economic growth, or energy security.
The GOP’s Big Bad Bill includes a provision that defunds Planned Parenthood by blocking the organization from receiving Medicaid funding—stripping access to needed health care services from low-income Oregonians and threatening to shut down Planned Parenthood health centers.
To my colleagues: please listen to the American West when we say wildfires are a crisis that will take lives and property unless we act. We cannot ignore a threat that is starting to reach states that have never experienced the kind of devastation we have seen in Oregon.
The local hospital leaders I met with were clear: they are already struggling financially and the GOP’s cuts would force them to stop providing services, fire staff, or even close their doors.
Removing people to countries where they have no ties is inhumane. SCOTUS should protect the due process rights of all people in our country—not give a greenlight to Trump’s dangerous mass deportation agenda. bsky.app/profile/stev...
#BREAKING: Over a (sharp) public dissent from the three Democratic appointees, #SCOTUS clears the way for the Trump administration to remove migrants to third countries *without* giving them an additional opportunity to contest whether they face persecution or other forms of mistreatment there:
To celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month, I encourage all of my colleagues to join me in supporting humane immigration policies that create a path to citizenship for the aspiring Americans who have so much to offer.
The Oregon Zoo works closely with federal partners, and any cuts or layoffs to key programs at USDA or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service compromise the Zoo’s efforts to save threatened species.
Thanks to the Oregon Zoo for inviting me to visit! It was great to meet baby Tula-Tu and her mom Rose-Tu, and to learn more about the Zoo’s ongoing and planned conservation work with the Oregon silverspot butterfly and Mazama newt.

The President does not have the authority to enter into war without Congressional approval—it is unconstitutional. To begin a war is among the most consequential decisions a nation can make, affecting its troops, civilians, and the world.
The Department of Labor denied my request to visit the Tongue Point Job Corps campus, but that didn’t stop me from meeting off campus with staff and students to hear their stories. Job Corps saves lives, and I’m going to keep fighting to save Job Corps.
Cutting Medicaid is irresponsible, inhumane, and immoral, and I will fight these cuts with every tool I have. It was an honor to stand with Oregonians to defend our values, hear how devastating Medicaid cuts will be, and commit to improving - not cutting - access to health care.

I was proud to stand alongside @wyden.senate.gov, @repbonamici.bsky.social, and all of you incredible leaders. Together, we will continue to shine a light through the darkness and speak out against injustices. It’s your stories that power this fight.
