57 years ago, astronauts Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin became the first people to set foot on the moon. Subsequent Apollo missions landed 3 lunar rovers built in WA – and we’re very proud that 40+ WA companies supported this year’s Artemis II mission.

To honor Rep. Lewis’ legacy, Congress must continue to work to ensure equal rights and equal access to the ballot box. I was honored to have joined him in 2019 in his annual civil rights pilgrimage across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. (2/2)

Six years ago today, we lost John Lewis – a civil rights icon who inspired us to fight for justice and equality, even in the face of great adversity. We now fight for our voting rights, which are under threat by the President of the United States. (1/2)

The question now is whether Congress continues to allow President Trump to undermine the Constitution, state law, and Americans’ right to cast their votes, or whether Congress will stand up and stop Homeland Security's unauthorized attempt to throw Americans off of the voting rolls. (2/2)
I opposed the $1.1 trillion NDAA because it does not end President Trump’s unauthorized war with Iran, does not safeguard against the military being used domestically, and fails to justify its historic cost as Americans grapple with soaring food and energy prices. (1/2)
Thank you to Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action advocates from WA for our recent meeting in DC. We discussed the urgent need to prevent gun violence, which affects far too many people across Washington state.

The White House ousted all three sitting members of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, hamstringing the bipartisan agency ahead of the midterm elections. nbcnews.to/4w819bu
The court has sided with the rule of law in allowing health inspectors into the Northwest ICE detention center. Everyone, including contractors to the federal government, need to comply with our state’s health laws for detainees and Washington workers. www.kiro7.com/news/local/j...
I recently celebrated with Congressional Award Gold Medalists from Washington state. They dedicated hundreds of hours to serving their communities, a feat they should be very proud of.

I ask my Senate colleagues to stand up for your vote and for our rights – because if we don’t stop this assault on vote-by-mail, I guarantee you millions of Americans will be disenfranchised.
American exceptionalism is that we are a melting pot, and that melting pot makes us stronger. Today in Seattle, I celebrated our nation’s 250th anniversary with 252 new U.S. citizens.

With this key federal environmental review complete, it's time to put the $2.1 billion in federal grants to work building a bridge that will serve our region and the nation for generations. (3/3)
Let’s get building! The signing of the Record of Decision brings the Pacific Northwest one step closer to replacing the aging Interstate Bridge with the modern, resilient crossing our region has needed for decades. (1/3)
