Today, as a member of the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, I voted for 25 projects that leverage public and private partnerships and Federal Duck Stamp dollars to conserve more than 34,000 acres of waterfowl habitat. This is conservation for the people, by the people. 📷: Greg Knadle
Donald Trump has been President for 9 months and all he’s done is make Americans sicker and poorer. When he passed his Big Bad Bill, he took a lot of money and he put it into tax cuts for billionaires. You’re going to see it in your premiums.
Every successful government funding effort has one thing in common: good faith, bipartisan negotiations. Trump refusing to negotiate makes a government shutdown very likely. This will be Trump’s shutdown plain and simple.
When the country debated the merits of the Roadless Rule 24 years ago, the Forest Service received 1.6 million+ comments–over 95% in favor. Since then, it's helped protect us from wildfires, ensured clean drinking water, and sustained habitats for wildlife and sportsmen...
We lost a great yesterday–not just a film legend, but also an environmental champion. Robert Redford advocated tirelessly for the West, public lands, and climate action. He’ll be missed. This letter he sent me hangs in my office, lifting up our shared work opposing the Keystone XL Pipeline.
First, Republicans slashed Medicaid. Now, they are screwing with health care premiums. We should be permanently extending health care tax credits for working families. Enough with Republicans’ games and rising costs.
Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. If the government shuts down, it's because they chose to shut it down rather than negotiate a bipartisan budget that serves the American people.
In New Mexico, we love our green chile dip, and kids love their half-pint milk cartons. Even more, we appreciate the workers that produce them. They deserve respect and a fair contract. I will always stand with unions in demanding fair pay, good benefits, and safe working conditions.
24 years ago, our country was changed forever. I’ll never forget those we lost and the brave first responders who risked everything. Today, federal staffing cuts are forcing first responders to once again fight for the health care they deserve. Let's fix this now.
