Martin Heinrich

Martin Trevor Heinrich is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from New Mexico, a seat he has held since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Heinrich served as the U.S. representative from New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 2009 to 2013. He and fellow senator Ben Ray Luján are the co-deans of New Mexico's congressional delegation.

We are still working on the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations, but it’s not too soon to start looking at the ones for Fiscal Year 2025.   And it all starts with free and fair elections, which is exactly what I’m asking @POTUS to prioritize in his budget.
Today, SCOTUS will hear arguments on the bump stock ban. In June, I intro'd bipartisan legislation with Senator Collins & Senator Cortez Masto to keep this ban in place with a federal law. I’m a firearm owner & sportsman. I believe in responsible gun ownership. Bump stocks aren't that.
