We had a blizzard along the North Shore this week, and Musk’s answer is to shut off heating assistance? No. I want answers. I fought for this funding for a reason and I’m not just going to sit and watch it get ripped away from Minnesotans.
Just heard DOGE/Musk are cutting half of the staff at the Social Security offices in Alexandria. 40% of the staff in Rochester. It’ll make it a lot harder for seniors to get help when they run into issues, which might be exactly what they want.
Sen. Strom Thurmond voted against the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, AND supported Jim Crow laws. Thurmond’s record for longest floor speech (in protest of the Civil Rights Act, no less!) was just broken by a Black man, my good friend Cory Booker. That’s America.
If you’re a Midwestern populist who believes regular people should have a fighting chance against the wealthy and powerful, you would have found in Chris a kindred spirit. She taught me most of what I know about stirring up trouble. I love you Mom.
This is Chris Flint my Mom. Born on April Fool’s Day in 1932, passed on from this Earth after a long goodbye from Alzheimer’s in 2016. She would have been 93 today. If you wonder where I learned to swear, here’s my teacher.
