We still do not know if this letter was real or simply an attempt to create fear. Either way, we have zero tolerance for this racist fear-mongering. I appreciate Lincoln Co Sheriff Curtis Landers and the FBI responding quickly and forcefully.

Tonight, it was Democrats who kept the government open, funded disaster relief, and stood up for our farmers. While Republicans were busy trying to satisfy the world’s richest man, Democrats were the adults in the room.

As the chaos continues on Capitol Hill, here's a quick recap of how we got here:
House Republicans just failed to pass THEIR funding bill in a House THEY control after dozens of THEIR members voted against it. THEY created this bill after THEIR biggest donor, who THEY'RE afraid of, came out against the bipartisan bill negotiated by THEIR Speaker.
Just to be clear, this is what House Republicans deem wasteful spending:
-Cancer research for children
-Health centers
-Safe drinking water
-Food stamps for families
The billionaires called and said they need more tax breaks, so they’re throwing working people under the bus.
I fully support the rights of workers to organize and bargain for better wages and working conditions. I hope Amazon will voluntarily recognize their right to collectively bargain.
We need disaster relief for a record wildfire and hurricane season. Instead, Republicans are on the verge of shutting down the government because billionaires told them to do so. Yet again, selling out the working people that are suffering at the whims of billionaire donors.
Congratulations to Lane County Sheriff Cliff Harrold on being named the Sheriff of the Year by the Oregon State Sheriff's Association. We are grateful for your service and dedication to keep Lane County safe. ⬇️
I stand with United Steelworkers is opposition to the sale of U.S. Steel to Nippon. I joined 28 of my colleagues to call on President Biden to stop the sale. We must fight for a strong American manufacturing industry and workforce.
Today marks the two year anniversary of the Respect for Marriage Act, requiring all states to recognize same-sex and interracial marriages. It’s simple: Love is love.
It’s made even worse when you fly in from Mar-a-Lago ONLY to vote against a pro-worker majority on the NLRB.
Of the votes that took place yesterday, Vance ONLY cast one vote, and that was against American workers.
It’s not a surprise to see a ‘No’ from Manchin and Sinema on NLRB.
It also shouldn’t be a surprise that JD Vance voted ‘No.’
But you cannot say you’re pro-worker when you vote against workplace rights and protections.⬇️
If it seems strange to see a Democrat on the DOGE caucus, well, these are strange times and the old rules of engagement do not apply. I believe this is not a time to be timid, it’s a time to lean in and fight for what matters. That can’t happen if I’m on the sidelines. (9/9)
I am joining the DOGE Caucus to speak out against efforts that would make cuts that would destroy the programs and services that Americans rely on and have earned, whether that be Social Security, Medicare and VA benefits or the FAA, FEMA or the Postal Service. (8/9)
I got elected to fight for my constituents and have hard conversations. That can’t happen if we aren’t in the room. As a 3rd gen union member, I’ve never wavered in fighting for working people and I won’t stop now. (7/9)
We have two choices: Either we can scream, yell and cry in our beer or have eyes, ears and a voice in the room to stand up for seniors, veterans and working people. (6/9)
Whether it’s allowing Medicare to negotiate drug pricing or cracking down on defense contractors who overcharge the Defense Dept, we as progressives should come to the table with our list. (5/9)
The DOGE caucus is a forum to discuss ways to find savings in the budget. Anyone who thinks there aren’t opportunities to make government more efficient and effective is not living in the real world. This isn’t a partisan issue. (4/9)
Earlier today I spoke at a rally outside the Senate to call for the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act to overturn 40 years of punishing teachers, firefighters, police officers and other government employees by not letting them receive the benefits that they earned. (3/9)
