It’s United Nations Day. The U.S. helped found @un.org 80 years ago to provide a forum for the world to come together and respond to shared challenges. When we work with organizations like the UN, we can build a more peaceful and secure future for all.

If we ever needed light, we need it now. It was great to start the day with @markwarner.bsky.social, @repsuhas.bsky.social, and Virginians for a Diwali celebration at the Capitol.

Many of Virginia’s small business owners rely on the Affordable Care Act for health insurance. GOP attempts to diminish the ACA will force entrepreneurs to make tough choices, and not all businesses will be able to survive.
I can’t think of a more apt visual metaphor for Trump’s destruction of our country, our economy, and our federal workforce than the brazen demolition of the East Wing for his vanity project. This is a sad moment for our nation.
Trump has enacted policies for months to traumatize federal workers. Now, the GOP wants to give Trump more power to decide which workers get paid, and which get punished. I support legislation to ensure that the entire federal workforce is treated equally. www.kaine.senate.gov/press-releas...
I’m glad the Agriculture Committee advanced @markwarner.bsky.social and my bills to protect public lands in Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, and Bath counties. I treasure my memory of hiking Shenandoah Mountain with my wife on our honeymoon and hope to protect these lands for generations.
There’s been a lot of talk about a “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Today, folks are getting notices about a “Big, Bill," but it ain’t beautiful. It’s a premium bill that’s on average about double what it was last year. It’s time for Republicans to roll up their sleeves and fix this mess.
I’m proud the Foreign Relations Committee advanced bipartisan bills I’ve worked on to promote the rule of law, address violence and corruption in the Western Hemisphere, and strengthen our alliances. I urge my colleagues to pass them when they reach the Senate floor.
Alongside 45 of my colleagues, I’m supporting Trump in his opposition to Israel’s annexation of the West Bank—it would jeopardize any potential of peace in the region and the prospect of a two-state solution. We must foster conditions for a lasting peace.
Our economy suffers when Virginians are uninsured and one unexpected illness or injury away from financial ruin. We need to find a bipartisan solution that funds the government and protects health care access.
Parents who are doing their best shouldn't have to spend sleepless nights figuring out how to make it all work between health care costs and the overall uptick in the cost of living. I'm committed to protecting folks from sky-high health care premiums.
In a matter of hours, folks will start receiving notices about their skyrocketing 2026 marketplace health care premium costs. I’m fighting to stop rates from soaring, but I need your help. Go to kaine.senate.gov to share your new rate and how it will impact you and your family.
For three weeks straight, Trump has shown he is not interested in negotiating a deal to fund the government. Instead, he’s too busy creating AI-generated videos mocking Democratic leaders and his critics, and demolishing part of the White House for a new ballroom. Lunacy. youtube.com/shorts/93seh...
On Friday, I sat down with small business owners in Reston to hear about how Trump’s trade wars are raising costs on everyday goods like tea and coffee and hurting their businesses. That's why I'm forcing votes in the Senate to end Trump's tariffs.
Outside of a tea shop, symbolic boxes of tea with thee tariff rate on different countries printed on the side.

Trump's reckless threats against Colombia—a vital security partner and a huge export market for American farmers—will hurt our economy and efforts to curb transnational criminal organizations. We can and must find better solutions to work together to address narcotrafficking.
