I visited U.S. Coast Guard Base Portsmouth to visit the Command Center, tour CGC RESOLUTE, and speak with some of the exceptional leaders and servicemembers on base. I will keep working to support our Coasties and their families. Semper Paratus!
Happy National Virginia Day! It’s an honor to serve our Commonwealth and live in such a wonderful place. Today, we celebrate the amazing people, towns, and nature that make Virginia exceptional.
As Rosh Hashanah begins this evening, I send my best wishes for a worthwhile, healthy, and peaceful new year to the Jewish community across Virginia and around the world. Shana Tova!
It was great to join the kickoff of the Jeremiah Community Project and celebrate $2.92 million in funding I secured to build housing. This project is a true testament to what we can do when we work together, and I’m excited about how this will help more people have a place to call home.
This morning in Glen Allen, I attended the annual Sovereign Nations of Virginia Conference to discuss the integral role of our tribes to the history, culture, and economy of Virginia. I'll keep working to advance their priorities and make sure all indigenous Virginians have a voice in DC.
It was great to visit Bright Point in Chester yesterday to learn more about its programs. I was proud to secure $296,000 in funding to expand the college’s lab capacity so we can train more students in critical fields like health care.
This World Suicide Prevention Day is a reminder to check in on loved ones, prioritize your well-being, and remember that it's okay to ask for help. If you or someone you know is struggling, you can call or text 988Lifeline at 9-8-8 anytime for free, confidential support.
Happy Labor Day! Today and every day, let’s honor Virginia’s workers who keep our Commonwealth and our nation running. I will always fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, and stronger protections for all.
