The President wants to spend more of your taxpayer dollars on wars in the Middle East instead of on child care and health care here in the Pacific Northwest. No war with Iran. Fund child care and health care instead.
Trump: "The US can't take of daycare. That has to be up to a state. We're fighting wars. Medicaid, Medicare -- they can do it on a state basis. We have to take care of one thing: military protection. But all these little scams that have taken place, you have to let states take care of them."
Trump's VA is cutting thousands of unfilled roles. They're trying to say it doesn't matter, but that's not what I hear from local veterans. And now we're fighting a war with NO justification and NO plan for the veterans who come home. No war with Iran. Staff the VA.
STATES have authority over our elections and voting—NOT a delusional President trying to make it harder for Americans to exercise their right to vote & have a say in the future of our country. Just like Trump, WA state votes by mail safely & successfully. This Executive Order belongs in the trash.
The 14th Amendment could not be more clear: if you are born in America, you are a U.S. citizen. Doesn't matter what Trump thinks. He can't rewrite our Constitution on his own.
I don't know how Speaker Johnson can say that with a straight face when the Big Ugly Bill slashed Medicaid, SNAP, and so many other programs working Americans rely on to get by. Their bill was billionaires first and working people last.
FOX & FRIENDS: When you hear people say the Big Beautiful Bill only benefitted the rich, what do you say? MIKE JOHNSON: It's exactly the opposite. The Big Beautiful Bill-- the hardworking, the Working Families Tax Cut was written for lower and middle-class earners.
Growing up, there weren’t so many options for women to play sports competitively. My mom even had to play on a men’s hockey team—there was no women’s team. The amazing @seattletorrent.bsky.social players are inspiring so many young girls—and it makes such a big difference. Go Torrent!
"So many young girls today see an opportunity, that is so amazing" -Patty Murray Thank you for stopping by practice today and being a Torrent fan, Senator Murray! 🩵
Conversion therapy is child abuse. It should be banned nationwide—and I have a bill to do just that. I’m not going to stop fighting for a world where every person, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, can live with dignity and without fear.
Ports are the engine of our economy in WA state. So when federal law put us at a disadvantage, I pushed to change the law & deliver a solution. Today I was at the @portofseattle.bsky.social to highlight the historic federal funding I secured to support our ports, the local economy, and job growth.
You know what would help? A Secretary of Education who actually cares about making sure all students get a quality public education rather than someone dismantling our education system from the inside out.
You paying more at the pump is a direct result of Trump's reckless war of choice with Iran. Trump needs to end this war and actually try to live up to his promise of lower prices at home. NO war with Iran.
In Pierce County with Executive Mello to discuss funding I secured to expand Tacoma-Pierce Co. Public Health's mobile medical services. Trump tried to cut federal funding to help our states fight the addiction crisis by $1B. I stopped him. This is not the time to cut back on life-saving resources.
REMINDER: The Senate unanimously passed funding for TSA four days ago. House Republicans refused to even vote on it. Speaker Johnson, this is on you—stop holding TSA funding HOSTAGE.
Republicans don't seem too concerned about our national deficit now that the U.S. is spending billions on Trump's war of choice with Iran.    Why is it that when it comes to health care, we can't afford it—but when it comes to a war with no clear objective, we suddenly have the cash?
🚈 Washington state's newest addition to public transit: a train running over a floating bridge! 🚈   I have fought for @sound-transit.bsky.social since its earliest days and seeing the Crosslake Connection finally open was AWESOME!   THIS is why I'll keep fighting to invest in public transit! 🚉
