Every single Senate Democrat will vote against Russell Vought, the Trump nominee for OMB and chief architect of the ultra-right Project 2025.
We are holding the floor of the United States Senate overnight to expose how Project 2025 is the Trump White House agenda.
Democracy does not work in the shadows. Autocracy does. Not Democracy.
Democracy does not skirt the rule of law.
Rep. Jeffries and I are standing together on a bill to fight back against DOGE’s middle-of-the-night actions in Treasury Department payment systems.
This morning, Skye Perryman of @democracyforward.bsky.social and I talked about the frontline legal work to protect the American people. I want to thank Skye for everything she and her team are doing.
To PROTECT Americans across the country, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and I are standing together on a bill to fight back against meddling in the Treasury Department’s payment systems.
STOP THE STEAL!
RALLY FROM THE TREASURY BUILDING:
We are here to tell Elon Musk and DOGE that a secret squad of company men cannot pull off a hostile takeover of America's Social Security and tax information in the dead of night.

Today is Rosa Parks's birthday.
We remember her courage.
We remember her fearless resistance.
We remember her leadership in the Civil Rights Movement.
We will never stop fighting racial injustice.
Whatever DOGE is doing—it is not what democracy looks like
This isn't a tech startup
These are public institutions that deal with Social Security, Medicare, national defense, & provide for the well-being of the American people
The people have a right to be part of that debate
Nothing screams democracy like having a secret squad of company men pull off a hostile takeover of America's Social Security and tax information in the dead of night.
At a time of soaring egg prices, the Trump administration shutting off USAID programs that fight the global spread of bird flu is utterly asinine.
By shutting down USAID, DOGE is doing the work of Russia and China at the expense of the United States.
It’s dangerous.
It’s against America’s interests.
Congress must take action to restore the rule of law.
Harlem's own Helen M. Marshall left a tremendous impact on NY.
She was a lifelong community activist who began her career as an early-childhood teacher.
After serving as State Assemblywoman, then City Councilwoman, she became the first African American Queens borough president!
"The Dumbest Trade War In History."
This is not what the American people want.

Senate Democrats are not going to stand quiet as Donald Trump makes inflation worse.
We will push legislation soon to protect people’s bottom lines and stop the president from unilaterally plunging us into a trade war with our own allies.
But Donald Trump clearly doesn’t care.
He said the American people need to suck it up, to accept that his trade war would cause “some pain.” That is outrageous. That’s what an out of touch billionaire says.
To President Trump and his billionaire buddies, $1,200 may be chump change.
To most Americans, a $1,200 cost increase would be devastating.
We must protect people’s Social Security payments, Medicare payments, and tax refunds from any possible tampering by DOGE or other unauthorized entities.
If the Treasury Secretary does not remove DOGE’s access to the Treasury payment systems at once:
Congress must immediately act.
That is why Rep. Jeffries and I will work together on legislation to stop unlawful meddling in the Treasury Department’s payment systems.
Congress must take action to restore the rule of law.
An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government.
DOGE is not a real government agency.
DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions.
DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law.
DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand.
Good.
And we won’t stop fighting until Trump’s OMB freeze that hurts working families is a thing of the past.
