Trump and Musk aren’t tackling government waste; they’re stripping away essential services to pay for tax cuts that benefit the big businesses paying millions for private meetings with the president.

Your voices make a difference. Some of my colleagues across the aisle may avoid hearing from their constituents in person, but they can’t ignore the fact that the cuts they’re pursuing will hurt the communities they represent.
Their purge of NOAA workers also threatens Oregon’s rural economy and our ability to respond to disasters like wildfire.
We had a great turnout at my recent Tillamook County town hall meeting. One constituent, a Republican, said “you just do not treat people this way.”
Trump and Musk’s treatment of dedicated workers like the Oregonians at NOAA lacks basic decency.
People running the offices didn’t even know how many people were fired, the state climatologist told us, because “emails were coming to employees without knowledge of their supervisors.”
Story with @hborrud.bsky.social

Oregonian Arielle Kane was working to address our country’s unacceptably high maternal mortality rate until Elon Musk’s DOGE bros abruptly fired her and several of her colleagues. Arielle will be my guest to the joint address because her story matters.
Trump said he would lower costs, but additional tariffs will take us in the wrong direction.
Fact: the cost of tariffs will be passed on to consumers. Trump’s tariffs will increase grocery prices at a time when many Oregonians are struggling with hunger. They will make it more expensive to build during a persistent housing shortage.
Oregonian Arielle Kane has dedicated her career to improving the health of mothers & babies, most recently at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. But Elon Musk’s team of DOGE bros wrongly fired her & her colleagues.
I’m bringing Arielle to the joint address so we can amplify her story.
Thank you to Arielle Kane, an Oregonian who was working in Washington DC doing important research to address our country’s high maternal mortality rate until she was abruptly fired by email a few days ago.

Federal workers help keep the roads we drive on free from hazards and the food we buy safe.
As I heard from an expert witness at a recent committee hearing, Trump and Musk are threatening the workers who run our country’s public services and contribute to a stable economy.
I'm open to finding smarter, better ways to do things, but this is not smart and it won't make things better.
I've visited with Oregon's weather forecasters, and they were doing a lot on what was already a lean budget. This most recent purge of federal employees will be harmful to Oregonians, especially in agricultural and coastal areas.

Plus with Musk's business interests, they have opened the doors to a massive amount of corruption and conflicts of interest.
Despite the title of a recent hearing, the American workforce has not been unleashed and the economy has not been strengthened. Instead, Donald Trump and Elon Musk have created chaos and widespread uncertainty by indiscriminately firing thousands of civil servants.
We can honor their legacy by continuing to advocate for women’s rights—including the right of women to make their own personal health care decisions without government interference.
During Women’s History Month, we recognize the women who have strengthened our country—including those whose stories aren’t recorded in history books.
Ramadan Mubarak to all who observe! I hope you have a meaningful fast and time spent with family and community.
The Trump administration has a climate denial agenda that undermines public health and the environment. Trashing the EPA finding that greenhouse gas emissions cause harm is dangerous and contrary to science.
I stand with the @equality.house.gov in the fight to protect every servicemember.
The Trump administration’s latest action to bar qualified Americans from serving our country because they are trans is shameful. It’s yet another example of their bigoted agenda to strip away the civil rights of trans Americans.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
