This week, I joined the Bipartisan Women's Caucus to honor and recognize six brave, resilient women with a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. We came together to thank them for their bravery, and to honor the fallen, who gave their all in service to our nation. 🧵 1/3
Today, a US Senator was thrown to the ground by Trump's thugs and arrested for having an opinion different than the President. That's un-American. They're dragging us further from democracy and closer to a dictatorship. And if they'll come for him, they'll come for you.
I've got to brag on my CD5 scholars for a second, who have won the National Merit Scholarship, one of the highest academic awards for high schoolers. Kids from West Linn, Lake Oswego, & Bend are headed to college to do great things – I can't wait to see you soar! www.oregonlive.com/education/20...
It’s been 159 days since Republicans gained control of Congress, and yet, we still have not voted on a single piece of legislation to lower costs. Instead, they’re stripping people of their health care and stealing food out of the mouths of our families.
Shared a special moment with Ren Suo, the winner of our Congressional Art Competition today, when we got to see her artwork hanging in the halls of the Capitol! I’m so glad she got to make the trip. The talent in CD5 is off the charts!
It was incredible to be able to connect with so many of you during my first telephone town hall last night. A great fourth stop of the Give ‘Em Hell Tour. We talked about Trump’s trash bill and its harmful cuts, and protecting the programs so many Oregonians rely on. Thanks for tuning in!
Last call for the telephone town hall! 📞 If you'd like to join me tonight at 6:00PM PT, RSVP here: forms.gle/4o8KmhokmxRX... 💻 You can also listen in on a livestream on my website here: bynum.house.gov/TTH I look forward to speaking with you!
Calling all residents of CD5! Next week, I’ll be holding my first telephone town hall. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP with your name and phone number, and you will receive a phone call to join on June 10 at 6:00PM PT. RSVP 🔗: forms.gle/d4V3ZJpWF3B5...
Freedom of speech is under attack across the country. This morning, I stood shoulder to shoulder with my colleagues as Congressional Black Caucus Chair @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social offered remarks in defense of the right to dissent. Our rights are on the line. We will not back down.
As a mom of a D1 football player, I know how long overdue it was to allow our student athletes to earn their fair share. That's why I'm introducing the College SPORTS Act, to strengthen name, image, and likeness protections for athletes and expand their academic opportunities.
Everywhere I go in CD5, I hear the same thing: people want the government to work for them. That means getting Social Security payments on time, knowing they can access healthcare, and being able to pay the bills. These aren’t red or blue issues. They’re common sense.
In 2024, there were 502 mass shootings. 5,151 kids lost to gun violence. 16,576 people killed. During #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth we remember that everyone who we have lost to senseless gun violence is somebody’s someone. We have to put a stop to gun violence.
Our local City Councilors Steph Newton-Azorr and Carolyn McLeod have a simple message for the federal government: have our community’s backs, and keep them safe.
Have you marked your calendars? Tomorrow at 6PM PT I’ll be hosting my first telephone town hall! 📲 It has been amazing visiting you all on the Give ‘Em Hell Tour, and I want to reach everyone, across the district! RSVP 🔗: forms.gle/81nNge1hLGdr...

Trump's new travel ban is a fear mongering tactic that abandons our core values, tears families apart, and does nothing to improve safety. This is just an attempt to distract from his work to strip millions of their healthcare and benefits. Enough. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...
Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay! 🌎 We are so lucky to call Oregon's coastline, scenic forests, and National Parks home. Let today serve as a reminder of the role we all have to play in preserving these national treasures for generations to come.
