Families devastated by the loss of loved ones from the Potomac crash deserve compassion & leadership. Instead, President Trump blames “DEI”. Clearly, he wants to distract Americans from the fact that he has made it harder for safety officials to keep us safe.
This week, I visited Amity Regional High School—a school in a Title I district. As the students showed me their projects, Trump froze federal funding for their tech & teachers pay. I’ll fight to ensure schools like Amity get the resources they need to help students thrive.
I am shocked by the news of a crash involving an American Airlines plane and a military helicopter. I am praying for the passengers and crew aboard both aircraft. I am closely monitoring the situation as we learn more.
Translation: Pres. Trump & OMB are still actively working to steal American taxpayers' money that is promised to communities across the country & will stop at nothing to increase the cost of living for hardworking Americans & undermine our national security at home and abroad.
WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt just clarified on X that the rescission of the OMB memo was simply to get the federal court case to go away, not lifting the funding freeze on anything that goes against Trump's EOs translation: "please stop yelling at me for the thing i want to keep doing"
Karoline Leavitt
@PressSec
This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze.

It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo.

Why? To end any confusion created by the court's injunction.

The President's EO's on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.
On the first anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act without my dear friend Lilly, we honor her legacy and continue the fight for equal pay. Her memory drives us to ensure every hardworking American woman is paid fairly for the same work. Our work is far from over.
Americans are struggling with the high cost of living. Trump's funding freeze does nothing to help. It  makes childcare, housing, home-heating, & food more expensive by locking people out of programs that cut costs.   I will fight this illegal action. People's lives are at stake.
Today is the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz’s & Holocaust Remembrance Day. I stand with the Jewish community & honor the 6 million innocent lives taken in this horrible tragedy. Antisemitism must be defeated. We must never forget & always confront hate.
Today, I joined my constituent Will Dellacamera and other small Connecticut farmers to spotlight the historic Farm Recovery & Support Block Grant. This grant will give our small & medium farmers the ability to recover and thrive after unexpected localized weather events.
Good news: Just this month alone, CT’s 3rd District received over $15 million in funding to help rail commuters, improve our neighborhoods, & more. Bad news: Trump is threatening to illegally take it all away. That’s why I’m fighting against his unlawful executive order.
G.O.P= Gold Over Progress Trump's billionaire buddies know nothing about struggling with the high cost of living. Don't be fooled, he's showing us whose corner he's in. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting for lower costs, affordable health care, and fairer wages.
52 years ago, the Supreme Court upheld a woman’s right to choose with Roe v Wade. In 2022, following orders from Trump, the activist conservative justices overturned it. No woman should be limited by her geography– reproductive healthcare must be available in all states.
This decision sends a clear message to those who would commit political violence on President Trump’s behalf: I’ve got your back. This is a clear-cut abuse of his authority. (3/3)
President Trump’s decision to pardon these individuals does nothing to help Americans or bring down their cost of living. In fact, it unleashes a torrent of convicted violent criminals into our streets. (2/3)
I was here on January 6th – any insinuation that the rioters who assaulted the Capitol that day were anything less than violent offenders is an insult to the brave police officers and Capitol staff who put their lives on the line to defend our democracy. (1/3)🧵
2 years ago, Monterey Park endured a heartbreaking tragedy, losing 11 members of its community to a senseless act of gun violence. As a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I am committed to combating gun violence by passing common sense gun regulation in Congress.
The peaceful transfer of power underscores the strength of our democracy—a legacy we must preserve for generations. I am grateful for the service of President Biden and Vice President Harris and their commitment to this principle.
However, I will stand firm in my beliefs—in our democratic values, in the equality and dignity of all people, and in an economy that works for the middle class.
Today, President Trump shared his vision for the nation. I will work with him where possible—on lowering costs, fair trade, reestablishing the expanded, monthly Child Tax Credit, and building a healthier food system.
