First President Trump unleashed his tariff chaos on our small businesses and now congressional Republicans are refusing to extend the enhanced ACA tax credits that small business owners rely on. That's a one-two punch small businesses can't afford.
Millions of Americans like Nancy depend on key Affordable Care Act tax credits to pay for health insurance, and nearly 80% of the public want us to extend them. But instead of working to bring down health care costs, congressional Republicans shut down the government.
Without key Affordable Care Act tax credits, a person making $65,000/year in Tompkins County, NY would pay close to $10,000/year for health insurance. And that's the cheapest plan available. If Senate Republicans let the tax credits expire, people won't be able to afford health insurance. Period.
