My friends and family know that I love a bookstore – so I was beyond excited to visit the newly opened Forage Books in Kennett Square. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our local communities and I hope to be back soon. Thank you to owner Tamlyn for having me!

I am proud to cosponsor the Respect for Local Communities Act to restrict DHS from constructing, acquiring, or operating any detention centers or processing facilities without state and local approval. This is an important step in restoring local authority and keeping our community safe.
For Barclay Friends assisted living facility, we secured more than $1 million in funding to renovate the memory care facility, doubling its capacity. On my tour, I was happy to learn about the dementia services they provide and the many ways this expansion will help them care for even more seniors.
I recently visited Goshen Fire Company, who received $850,000 in community project funding to build a new fire and EMS station. Our firefighters, both volunteer and career, can continue safely serving the more than 35,000 residents of East Goshen, West Goshen, Westtown and Willistown townships.
Cutting resources at VA medical centers forces veterans to seek community care from local hospitals. Many of those local hospitals are now at risk of closure due to the Republican budget bill passed last year.
In my last newsletter, I shared that we secured $12 million in community project funding for 14 different projects right here in Chester and Berks Counties, allowing federal dollars to have a targeted, tangible impact in our community. Find the list of awardees at the link below!
President Trump’s reckless tariffs are putting Pennsylvania farmers out of business. PA farms saw a 160% increase in bankruptcy filings in 2025, alone. Agriculture is at the heart of our economy, and I will fight against this administration’s attacks on PA farms.
