President Trump and Congressional Republicans refused to extend ACA tax credits, and now 3 million Americans have been priced out of their health care. They don't care about making health care affordable. They care about protecting wealthy donors and corporate interests.
That’s why I'm joining Senator Kelly in introducing legislation to get this dangerous buildup out of our forests, reduce wildfire risk, and support the rural businesses and workers doing the job.
Climate change has caused New Mexico's forests to become overcrowded with dead trees, brush, and other flammable debris that fuel catastrophic wildfires. Too often, the cost of hauling that material out is what stops the work from getting done.
New Mexico wouldn’t be New Mexico without our chile. That’s why I introduced the CHILE Act – to make sure our chile growers and specialty crop producers have the support they need to keep growing, creating jobs, and feeding our communities.
The DEA knowingly let as many as 1.8 million fentanyl pills poison New Mexico's streets. Fentanyl has stolen children from New Mexican families. I'm fighting for answers and accountability. This evil drug has no place in America.
Inflation is at its highest level under Trump. New Mexicans are struggling to put food on the table, keep a roof over their heads, and make ends meet. Trump has repeatedly said – and shown – that he does not care about the increased costs you are facing. The American people deserve better.
The Supreme Court just stripped legal protections from tens of thousands of Haitian and Syrian migrants. The Trump-stacked Supreme Court is sending families back to the danger they fled. This is cruel and wrong, and I will keep fighting to protect TPS families.
Today, @democrats.senate.gov forced a vote and approved the House-passed Iran War Powers Resolution. While Trump continues to lie about his costly war’s timeline and end, it was past time for Republicans to stop enabling his chaos.
Big News: The Senate passed landmark housing legislation to lower costs, expand the housing supply, and stop private equity firms from buying up single-family homes. @SenateDems are delivering on our promise to tackle costs and address Donald Trump’s affordability crisis.
Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a historic day when the last enslaved Americans were finally informed of their emancipation. Let’s honor this day by carrying forward the work of abolitionists, Civil Rights leaders, and those who continue to fight for equality and opportunity for every American.
Republicans jammed a repeal of the Roadless Rule into a bipartisan wildfire bill, putting millions of acres of public lands at risk without public input. I'm joining @heinrich.senate.gov in fighting back. We won't let Republicans sneak this through without a fight. Make your voice heard.
Senate Republicans created a Trojan Horse to repeal the Roadless Rule. We need to raise our voices to push back!
The Monumental Loop in southern NM was just named a top candidate for federal recognition under the BOLT Act, the legislation I championed to strengthen outdoor recreation. This route showcases our state's stunning landscapes, and recognition would bring the resources to help more people enjoy it.
When asked about negotiations with Iran, Donald Trump said he “couldn’t care less” and called them “very boring.” Our men and women in uniform deserve a Commander in Chief who understands the consequences of war and takes them seriously. Shame on you.
