Right now, Trump is trying to destroy historic clean energy investments & basic environmental protections, jeopardizing our planet and economy.
On this Earth Day, I'm committed to fighting back and standing firm to defend the progress we've made to protect the environment.

We have never had a more incompetent or unqualified Secretary of Defense.
It’s a disgrace he was ever nominated, but in case it wasn’t already abundantly apparent—Pete Hegseth must RESIGN.
BREAKING NYT:
Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about forthcoming strikes in Yemen on March 15 in a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer.
The info included the flight schedules for the F/A-18 Hornets targeting Houthis. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/u...
The Republican plan:
➡️Blow up the debt,
➡️Give more tax cuts to billionaires,
➡️And gut health care and food assistance for families, like Medicaid and SNAP.
We've all got to speak out against the GOP's pro-billionaire, anti-middle-class agenda.
I will not let two billionaires take a wrecking ball to YOUR Social Security, all so they can make room for more tax breaks for their billionaire friends.
Social Security is a promise—and I will do everything I can to make sure our country lives up that promise.
Washington state is the number one apple-producing state in the country & it relies heavily on international trade.
I met with farmers in Yakima to hear firsthand how they need access to global markets to succeed.
Had an incredible morning watching Yakama Nation members dipnet fishing on the Klickitat River.
I also spoke with Tribal leadership about their concerns that Trump's illegal funding freeze could impact their federal support for forest management and wildfire support.
I helped secure federal dollars for a new preschool space at YWCA Clark County specifically for kids who've experienced trauma. I got to see that new space—but Trump's chaos and illegal funding freezes are making it harder for YWCA to support domestic violence survivors.
There are and will continue to be painful consequences to Trump's ham-fisted tariffs and chaotic trade war.
I sat down with business & union leaders in Vancouver to hear about what this means for their businesses, workers, and the local economy.
We’re with you, Senator Van Hollen. In America, we don’t send people to foreign prisons for life with no trial and no due process.
We’ll keep fighting. This is about protecting our democracy.
Today, I stopped by local businesses in downtown Vancouver to hear firsthand how Trump's destructive tariff policy is wreaking havoc on their bottom line & ability to plan for the future.
Congress can & must reverse these ham-fisted tariffs.
This is not about one man. MOST of the people Trump disappeared have NO criminal record. Yet they had no due process, and have no outside contact.
Merwil—reportedly grabbed by mistake.
Arturo—a musician.
Andry—a makeup artist.
No record, no explanation.
I heard directly from folks in Vancouver today about how Trump's tariffs are hurting businesses in WA state and driving up costs.
Republicans cannot keep ignoring this Trump-driven chaos. They need to work with Democrats & reverse these tariffs ASAP.
Today I toured @wsuvancouver.bsky.social's new Life Sciences building to hear how the facility will help fill workforce gaps in Southwest WA.
I'll do everything I can to ensure Trump's attacks on higher education don't jeopardize this work.
When I met with RFK Jr., he didn’t even know HHS had anything to do with child care.
Now, he's working with Trump to choke off funding for Head Start & force preschools to close, kicking kids out of the classroom and sending parents scrambling.
The end goal? Eliminating Head Start.
Republicans want to cut Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.
That will mean hospitals & clinics closing their doors, moms & babies losing health coverage, seniors cut off from home care services & forced out of long-term care facilities & so much more.
It was important to visit @cloverparktech.bsky.social and hear from students & instructors about how vital federal funding is to helping them train students for in-demand jobs—and how Trump's attacks on education threaten that work.
A tariff is a tax—& Trump’s new tax is aimed squarely at hardworking Americans.
I was in Tacoma to talk about what this means for businesses & consumers—and to make clear I will keep fighting for them.
Congress can and must reverse these reckless tariffs.
Trump's tariffs will cost American families $4,000+ a year—that's the largest tax increase since 1968!
I heard from business leaders in Tacoma about how Trump's chaotic trade war is already hurting them and will mean higher costs for everyone.
The Trump administration ripped Kilmar Abrego Garcia off the street, ignored due process, and illegally deported him to a torture prison in El Salvador.
It is un-American, immoral, illegal, and needs to stop.
No one should believe for one second that this funding was delayed by accident.
Trump is intentionally slow-walking resources and forcing Head Start centers to close—meaning kids kicked out of the classroom, teachers losing their jobs, and child care getting more expensive.
