To kick off Black Maternal Health Week, I joined @zerlinamaxwell.bsky.social on @zerlinamornings.bsky.social to discuss the Black maternal health crisis, the Momnibus Act and what @cbc.house.gov is doing to fight back against Republican actions that have made things worse.
On Yom HaShoah, we bear witness, mourn and remember those murdered in the Holocaust. As we mark the 83rd anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, we remember the bravery and fortitude of those who fought the Nazi regime and preserved traditions for generations. May their memories be a blessing.
Trump has never been a serious Commander-in-Chief. He would rather chase crowds of adoring fans than lead our nation out of his war of choice with Iran. I joined Rev. Al Sharpton on PoliticsNation to discuss the situation in Iran and more.
Officially ONE WEEK LEFT until the deadline for my Congressional Art Competition! Submit an original piece of artwork by April 20th for a chance to see your art displayed in the U.S. Capitol 🎨
Calling all high school students across Virginia’s Fourth! Applications are now open for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. Submit your original artwork by Monday, April 20 at 5 PM for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year! 🎨
Graphic. Background is design of frames with artwork from VA-04. Text reads, “CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION. Due Monday, April 20, 2026 by 5pm. MORE INFO: mcclellan.house.gov.” Logo of Rep. McClellan is present.
After threatening war crimes against the Iranian people, the President of the United States now threatens “a whole civilization” with death. Speaker Johnson must call the House back to end Trump’s war of choice and take back the reins from an Administration with no strategy beyond more bloodshed.
Post from Trump that reads, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”
Since its founding through the North Atlantic Treaty 77 years ago today, NATO has been a lynchpin to security and maintaining stability across Europe and North America. Since his return to office, President Trump has threatened to abandon NATO and put decades of diplomatic progress at risk.

One year ago, Trump announced his “Liberation Day” tariffs, throwing our economy into chaos with sweeping taxes on everything from technology to toys, groceries and more. Since then, I’ve heard stories across Virginia about the uncertainty Trump’s illegal tariffs have caused.
Jeannette Rankin took her oath of office to serve as the first Congresswoman of the United States 109 years ago today. Her courage as a historymaker has paved the way for me and so many other women of Congress to fight for a future that allows our daughters and their daughters to dream bigger.

Republicans pushed through nearly $200 billion to fund ICE and Border Patrol in the Big Ugly Law. Yet their dysfunction has kept TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard and cybersecurity professionals unpaid. Speaker Johnson should call the House back to approve DHS funding we should have approved last week.
Breaking News: The House took no action on the Senate’s bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security. The record agency shutdown will continue through at least Monday.
President Trump once again seeks to reshape election law by executive fiat in order to suppress votes. Federal courts have rejected these unconstitutional efforts. This latest threat to democracy must fall as well.
President Trump signed an executive order directs the U.S. Postal Service to send ballots only to voters who appear on a list of citizens to be compiled by the Department of Homeland Security with the assistance of the Social Security Administration.
A special #WomensHistoryMonth episode of Moments with McClellan drops today with @abigailspanberger.com, the first woman to lead Virginia, my friend and former colleague from the House! Tune in to hear about Governor Spanberger’s favorite part of our Commonwealth, favorite superhero and more.
I took my oath of office with my hand on my father’s Bible. Inside, he kept his poll tax receipt. Now, I’m fighting to stop a modern-day poll tax. Read my column in @democracydocket.com about how the SAVE America Act will disenfranchise millions of Americans and roll back progress on voting rights.
NEW: When Rep. Jennifer McClellan was sworn into office, she put her hand on her father’s Bible where he kept the receipt of a poll tax he paid in 1947 when registering to vote. The SAVE America Act would impose a modern-day poll tax, reversing decades of progress made by voting rights advocates.
On this #TransDayofVisibility, we uplift and celebrate the transgender and non-binary community! The safety and fundamental civil rights of our trans neighbors are under attack. Today and every day, we must defend their freedoms and right to exist in peace.
Graphic of an individual stands against the sky holding a transgender pride flag. Across the image, the words “International Transgender Day of Visibility” are displayed. At the bottom is Rep. McClellan’s logo.
