Dr. Hayden was an exceptional Librarian of Congress & her abrupt firing is unjustified. As Trump cuts library funding, bans books, & tries to restrict public access to information, we must continue Dr. Hayden's mission: ensure libraries are open, accessible, & for everyone.
Hoy es un gran día to kick off construction on El Centro! Proud to help direct fed funds to this exciting, welcoming gathering space for the Central Falls community. Gracias a la Alcaldesa Maria Rivera for her determination & vision for this new community center.
Trump Admin: ignoring privacy rights & civil liberties guardrails while unleashing DOGE coders to collect & centralize Americans’ private data. I gave Trump’s FBI Dir multiple opportunities to address unprecedented security risks this poses. He refused. We should all be alarmed.
Trump’s trade announcement is a clear win for Rolls-Royce but a big, fat LOSS for the American people. U.S. consumers & businesses will still be forced to PAY MORE for a plethora of goods than they did before Trump took office.
Transportation investments should be driven by need & merit. Thanks to advocacy of @whitehouse.senate.gov & our entire delegation, I’m glad the Trump Admin is following the law to provide these critical funds for RI’s interstate highway system.
Ensuring our kids have a high-quality education & support they need to thrive is a top priority. Trump Admin’s gutting of Dept. of Education doesn’t accomplish this. I joined Dem colleagues in raising awareness about dangerous consequences of Trump’s education plan.
Small businesses make a big impact. RI is home to thousands of outstanding #smallbiz that fuel local economies & contribute to our communities. I’m committed to ensuring small biz owners & entrepreneurs have the resources, support, & tools they need to grow & thrive.
Republicans had a choice between protecting Social Security or voting for Trump’s billionaire CEO buddy, Frank Bisignano, to run Social Security into the ground. Senate GOP decided they’re fine with gutting SSA & threatening earned benefits for millions of Americans.
We need efficiency at the Dept. of Defense. But personnel decisions should be based on facts & analysis, not arbitrary percentages. Eliminating the positions of many of our most experienced officers without justification could cripple the military.
