This is such a disingenuous statement. You’ve been holding up BEAD funding that was already APPROVED for my state since January, and you’re complaining no one has been connected yet? This is why I'll keep blocking expedited confirmation for Commerce Dept. nominees until you release the funding.
I’m committed to doing everything I can to ensure Nevada law enforcement has the federal funding and resources they need to fight crime and keep our communities safe. That’s why I'm pushing both parties to fully fund the COPS Hiring Program in this year’s government funding bill.
The Republicans' extreme tax and spending bill will cause hardworking families to see a spike in their health care costs – $700 per year on average. Health care is a necessity, and no one should have to choose between feeding their family or seeing a doctor.
This is RIDICULOUS. I helped create the BEAD program to connect the hardest-to-reach communities to high-speed Internet, and Nevada was ALREADY approved for our funding. I’m going to put a hold on every Commerce Dept. nominee who oversees broadband policy until NV gets its funding.
Senate Republicans are willing to strip away health insurance from people in need and shut down rural hospitals – while sending our country more than $2 TRILLION deeper into debt – all to give more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. Democrats are fighting to protect your health care.
BREAKING: The budget office projects that the GOP's big bill will cut taxes by $3.7 trillion and add $2.4 trillion to deficits over 10 years.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office just determined that Trump’s tariffs will shrink our economy and increase prices. Trump’s policies are hurting our economy and making everything more expensive for hardworking families.
Good news! I’m relieved to see Trump’s attempt to eliminate Job Corps has been temporarily blocked.  Job Corps is a wonderful program that’s given millions of Americans the skills training they need to succeed and achieve the American Dream. It must now be permanently protected and fully funded.
JUST IN: Judge blocks Trump administration effort to dismantle Jobs Corps. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Elon Musk is right in calling the Republican extreme tax bill “a disgusting abomination.” This is a Big Beautiful Betrayal of working families and Republicans in Congress just don't care.
Trump's reckless decision to fire TSA employees is putting a strain on airport security – which can hurt Nevada’s tourism economy. I'm demanding answers from this Administration about how their firings are affecting airports in our state.
Happy Pride Month, Nevada! This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Nevada and across the country. Now more than ever, we recommit ourselves to ensuring everyone – no matter who they are or who they love – is treated with dignity and respect.
The extreme Republican spending bill gives more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and pays for them by cutting Medicaid, risking access to care for Nevadans who need it the most, including kids with terminal illnesses. Senate Dems will use every tool at our disposal to fight back.
Hundreds of Nevadans rely on this program to learn the skills necessary to access good-paying jobs & achieve the American Dream. This move will take all of that away. (2/2)
Trump’s tariffs have amounted to the largest tax hike for Americans in our country’s history – and have caused economic chaos for families and small businesses. Glad to see the courts acknowledge this illegal overreach.
NEWS: A federal court just invalidated Trump’s ”Liberation Day" tariffs, ruling he exceeded his authority under IEEPA. The court said Trump can’t bypass Congress to set trade policy and that these tariffs are unconstitutional and void.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve secured more than $447,000 in federal funding to help veterans in Reno access safe, stable housing. We owe our veterans more than just gratitude — we owe them action.
Cutting this program is a threat to hundreds of young people counting on the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center for career training. I’m calling on the Trump Admin to reverse course and continue funding Job Corps to keep these vital opportunities alive.
Every Nevadan should be able to access a good-paying job. Sierra Nevada Job Corps helps make that goal a reality by providing the skills necessary for in-demand jobs – but now, their funding is being threatened by the Trump Admin. www.kolotv.com/2025/05/23/s...
Jessica relies on Medicaid to afford lifesaving care for her daughter Kay, who has Down Syndrome and type 1 diabetes. Republicans are putting Medicaid on the chopping block so billionaires can save even more money on their taxes. It’s despicable.
