Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon: If you declare that you have the right to kill someone because the government says they're a narco-terrorist, what separates a boat in the Caribbean from a person on the streets of Chicago? I mean, there is no legal distinction there.
The SAVE America Act will disenfranchise millions of Americans THIS November. Our elections are secure, and have been proven to be secure time and time again. This is a voter suppression bill.
Starting as soon as Tuesday, Thune will kick off what could be weeks of debate on the SAVE America Act. But the GOP's elections overhaul bill, a Trump priority, will likely fail to pass.
I was honored to join Villanova's Center for Irish Studies in welcoming Taoiseach Micheál Martin to campus for a discussion of Ireland's enduring ties with America on our 250th anniversary, and of Ireland's exemplary use of soft power and alliances in pursuing a values-based foreign policy.
The freedom of the press to report upon - and criticize - government is the foundation of a free society. If the President doesn't want the press to report on bad news or reckless decisions, he shouldn't make them. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
I met with Well Rooted PA, a nonprofit that provides services to meet the needs of foster families and children in PA-05, and learned about its holistic approach and range of services, including housing assistance, mental health resources, transportation, and more.
Main streets are the core of our economy. I toured small businesses in Wayne and the Anthony Wayne Theatre renovation project with state and local officials to learn more about the challenges they are facing in the current economic environment.
Today's attack on Temple Israel, a synagogue in Michigan, is horrifying. Everyone has a right to worship in peace without fear of violence and bigotry. I am praying for all those affected and am thankful for the quick response from law enforcement and first responders.
Breaking News: An attacker was killed after ramming a truck into a synagogue outside of Detroit and exchanging gunfire with security, the authorities said.
I enjoyed visiting with high school students participating in the Emerge Youth Leadership Fellowship at UPenn’s Fels Institute to speak about my work as a Member of Congress and how they can be civically engaged.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Lima Estates town hall! I appreciated the opportunity to discuss constituent concerns about the status of the war in Iran, voting and disability rights, and excesses in immigration enforcement. Your input is essential as I represent the voice of PA-05 in DC.
Corporal Timothy O'Connor was senselessly killed in the line of duty in Chester County last night. This is a tragedy for our state, for our law enforcement community. My heart goes out to his loved ones grieving this unthinkable tragedy. www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/p...
It has been 61 years since Bloody Sunday, the march for voting rights from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, that was stopped by state troopers who beat and tear-gassed marchers. That day’s violence generated outrage across our country, which was a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement.
Ever since my children were small, I've loved reading with kids! I celebrated Read Across America Day at DCIU with Early Childhood Education learners who did their best to make a Serious Goose laugh, making funny faces, silly voices, and even dinosaur sounds!
