House Republicans are deflecting their plans to gut Medicaid by saying the WORD Medicaid is not in the budget proposal. But you know what they’re NOT SAYING? That they WON’T cut Medicaid. That is a critical difference and we need to hold them accountable.
I’m committed to working with my partners in Michigan & colleagues on @transportdems.bsky.social to keep Americans safe in the skies. Great to meet with MI Dept. of Transportation Aeronautics Director Bryan Budds to deepen our partnership in serving all travelers who fly through the Mitten State.
I'm proud to stand with our democratic ally, Ukraine, and every Ukrainian fighting for freedom. I hosted Ukrainians from MI-03 in D.C. to hear their perspectives and stories three years after Russia's illegal invasion.
Make no mistake: House Republicans are celebrating because they successfully voted to rip away health care, food assistance, and more, while handing TRILLIONS of your hard-earned dollars to billionaires. This is no cause for celebration—families, children, seniors, and veterans are going to suffer.🧵
I won’t stand for it. West Michiganders deserve better. Alongside my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues, I’m here to remind the American people that we are fighting for THEM — not the top 1%.
House Republicans, Trump and Musk have unleashed chaos on the American people while doing nothing to address the country’s affordability crisis. They threaten to cut food, health care, environmental protections, crucial infrastructure projects, and more. 🧵
My bipartisan Pay Our Coast Guard Parity Act would ensure the brave men and women who risk their lives to protect our maritime borders and respond to emergencies are paid for their service.
West Michigan, I just landed in Washington and am ready to get straight to work. We have some crucial votes, committee work, and more coming up this week, and I’ll be sure to stay in touch as Team Scholten continues to work for you.
Truckers are essential to West Michigan’s economy, and I’m determined to advocate for them. I’m asking Transportation Secretary Duffy to move quickly to ensure our nation's emergency preparedness by boosting trucker safety and bolstering recruitment efforts. Read more here.

We cannot turn our backs on our ally Ukraine. I stood alongside West Michiganders to call on the Trump Administration to fully affirm our nation’s commitment to democracy by standing up to Russia and its autocratic leader. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
Folds of Honor does incredible work in providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of America’s fallen and disabled service members and first responders. It was an honor for me to speak at the Folds of Honor Gala and honor the incredible recipients of this year’s awards.
The $25 million federal grant to rebuild the East Beltline Bridge will be transformative for our community. The bridge has long needed a replacement, and I was honored to lead the charge to secure this crucial funding. Read more about the project here. www.fox17online.com/news/local-n...
