Devastated to hear of the loss of American servicemembers in Jordan. Our hearts are with their families as they grieve this tragedy.

While we’re on the topic of declassifying intelligence assessments…. Trump’s IC still hasn’t released the unclassified version of the IC assessment of the 2024 election- something released within months of the 2020 and 2022 federal elections. Why won’t he? What’s the hold up?
Virginia, much of our Commonwealth is experiencing hazy skies and poor air quality today… and it could last all the way through the weekend.
Those with heart disease, lung disease, asthma, and other complicating health issues should stay indoors. Everyone should limit strenuous activity.

If you didn’t catch Donald Trump’s incoherent ramblings tonight, here’s what you need to know:
Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Fair and square. He’s still selling the same lies that led to a violent insurrection five years ago.

Tonight seems to be the ceremonial kickoff of President Trump’s campaign to interfere in the November election. Trump has badly lost independent voters, even MAGA is disheartened; he is failing and unpopular, and he’s dragging his party down with him in the midterms.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social shares his instant reaction to Trump's speech: "He's trying to undermine confidence in the system. He's trying to create some sense that there's vulnerabilities there, so that in the future, a loss he can say was the result of this nefarious foreign actor."
That was an embarrassing speech with no new info – just lies and rehashed conspiracies. It’s incumbent on ALL of us not to treat that like real news.
Tonight, Donald Trump made one thing abundantly clear: He’s going to do everything he can to interfere in our free and fair elections.
This is the time for all of us to stand together and fight back.

OSSOFF: I expect tonight's speech to be equal parts pathetic and dangerous. I think we will hear from the world's most famous sore loser, a prime time presidential sour grapes address reheating, debunked conspiracy theories about an election in which he was soundly defeated.
Isn’t it weird that Trump’s speech never mentioned Russia – probably the single biggest perpetrator of election influence?

Warner: "As an American, I'm embarrassed ... we gotta decide whether we can keep our republic. And if we simply blow this off as another Donald Trump rant, we do that at our own peril"
It’s pretty laughable to watch Trump try and pretend accessing the voter file is the same thing as election interference. ANY statewide candidate will tell you that information is publicly available to purchase – it’s not some huge breach.
Well folks, as expected, Trump revealed essentially nothing new.
His speech was just lies & long-debunked conspiracies about the 2020 election.
This is all just a prelude to interfere in our midterms — don’t fall for it.
Trump uses his primetime address to claim mail-in ballots are “inherently corrupt”… while he’s used them time and time again.
A single concurring opinion suggested China may have tried to sway voters’ opinions… but that’s been public knowledge since 2021.
Trump’s shocking “bombshells” about China are totally bogus.
The fact is our intelligence agencies unanimously agreed that China did not even try to change a single vote in the 2020 election.
Whatever false claims Trump makes tonight, remember the facts: he’s been publicly saying for months that he wants to interfere in our elections.
Tonight’s speech is designed to help him justify that. Do not fall for it.
While this forever war rages, you continue to foot the bill.

Sen. Ossoff: Tonight, Donald Trump, the world's most famous sore loser, will deliver a prime time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year-old grievances about the 2020 election.
For anyone interested in doing their own research before Trump’s speech tonight… you can read the full declassified report on foreign threats to the 2020 election here. There was NO foreign interference in the 2020 election.
