Donald Trump closing the Kennedy Center and attempting to add his name to this cultural institution flies in the face of the respected history of bipartisan investment in arts, culture, and freedom of expression. 🧵

The racist post shared by President Trump depicting President Obama and First Lady Obama as monkeys is vile and indefensible.
Dehumanizing Black Americans is racist, rooted in hatred, and has no place in our politics.
I voted against funding DHS and ICE. As funding talks continue, the American people deserve safeguards and accountability against further violence.
Meals on Wheels provides food delivery services and promotes socialization, wellness, and safety checks. I introduced H.Res. 1002 to recognize the importance of the Older Americans Act nutrition programs in supporting seniors across Oregon and the country.
As the Trump administration's reckless economic policies continue to raise costs, essential nutrition programs like Meals on Wheels support older Americans and people with disabilities. 🧵
Happy Black History Month! This month - and every month - we honor the countless contributions of Black Americans to our country. Black history is American history, and we must commit to telling the full story of the American journey. #BHM
A government that kidnaps and silences its own people is not a democracy. This is not what America should be.
On National Girls and Women in Sports Day we celebrate girls and women being active and inspiring the next generations of athletes. We must do all we can to preserve access to skill-building, teamwork, friendship, and fun for ALL girls and women who participate as players or spectators.
This is not safety. We need ICE out of our schools and communities.

DWC members are holding Noem accountable at her front door.
ICE and CBP agents are killing Americans, and violently harming women in broad daylight and behind closed doors.

It was great to visit VisionGift with @repdexteror.bsky.social to learn about all they do in research and processing of eye tissue for donation. Portland’s Central Eastside has many organizations and leaders doing innovative and important work.
The Trump administration is trying to hide it, but the science is clear. Climate change is real and we should phase out fossil fuels, not promote them.
A free press is foundational to democracy. Arresting journalists is what authoritarians do; this is unconstitutional and un-American. Keep watching. Keep recording. We will not let them erase the truth.
I welcome this new and needed space to the district!
It was an honor to celebrate the opening of Bethanie’s Room, a project of Blanchet House. Bethanie's Room incorporates trauma-informed design and care to create a space where women and gender-expansive people experiencing homelessness have a safe space to spend the night. 🧵
Thank you to all who attended my Washington County Town Hall meeting. It was meaningful to connect directly with constituents after such a trying week.
Keep showing up and making your voices heard.
I met with local businesses and members of the Forest Grove Chamber. I've said it before and will say it again: small businesses are important to our communities and the economy, but they can’t thrive when customers and workers are being kidnapped off the streets and detained or deported.
It was an honor to celebrate with the City of North Plains after securing $1 million dollars for their new civic center and city hall building through community project funding! 🎉
I will continue my work for robust and stable funding and support for the arts with my bipartisan Arts Education for All Act and my bipartisan Creative Act.
Arts and culture are essential for communities and the economy, and arts education is a critical part of well-rounded education. Arts bring people together and help people heal.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
