It’s unacceptable that infants, young children, and expectant mothers might lose essential nutrition assistance because Republicans shut down the government. WIC services have never lapsed during a government shutdown, and they shouldn’t lapse now.
On Indigenous Peoples Day we recognize and celebrate the history of indigenous communities, while reflecting on the injustices they have suffered. This Indigenous Peoples Day, I renew my commitment to supporting policies that protect tribal land, uphold sovereignty, and advance tribal programs.
While waiting for the House Republicans to come back to work, I spoke out about their continued assault on Americans and their pocketbooks by making devastating health care cuts and driving up the cost of health insurance.
This opportunity must also include a significant and immediate influx of humanitarian aid to Palestinians, the rebuilding of Gaza, and a commitment to build on this momentum toward a lasting peace.
It was an honor to celebrate the opening of the Nehalem Bay Health Clinic and Pharmacy in Wheeler. The construction of this clinic shows the power of partnerships among local, state, and federal governments in collaboration with the community.
We flew back to DC from the Pacific NW to reopen the government, but Republicans are not even here. They need to come back from vacation, end this shutdown, and join us in halting steep increases in health care costs. @repemilyrandall.bsky.social
We must continue to strive for an end to the war, a return of all remaining hostages still held in Gaza, a massive and immediate influx of aid for Palestinians, and a swift rebuilding of Gaza so we can finally move to a lasting and sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
I am headed back to Washington, D.C. to continue to fight for the people of NW Oregon. As we move through this critical time for our state and country, please continue to reach out to my office.
Thank you to everyone who attended my town hall meetings this past weekend. I spoke with constituents in Seaside and Beaverton, and it is overwhelmingly clear that the district I represent is gravely concerned about the future of democracy, the environment, healthcare, and more.
