Honored to celebrate the McCourt School of Public Policy Class of 2025 at Georgetown University’s commencement ceremony. It was a gratifying moment to mark this milestone alongside Frank McCourt—whose generous gift has paved the way for the next generation of public policy leaders.
It was a pleasure to debut my homestyle Mac n’ Cheese Cups with Shrimp at the 43rd Annual March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. To the directors of March of Dimes, thank you for putting together this bipartisan event that raised $1.5 million for the health and well-being of mothers and their babies!
House Republicans are proposing the largest Medicaid cuts in history—just to bankroll billionaire tax breaks. This isn’t fiscal responsibility. It’s cruelty—by design. Democrats will keep pushing back—with your help—because health care shouldn’t come at the cost of your next meal.
As I post this, House Republicans are targeting food aid for kids, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities in their budget cuts. That’s just the start. Every $1 in SNAP benefits generates $1.50 in activity—from jobs to tax revenue. These aren’t cuts—they’re attacks on lives and livelihoods.
This #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service of our military members, past and present. From Central Ohio and beyond, your dedication protects our freedoms and strengthens our communities.Thank you for your service.
This #AAPIHeritageMonth, we honor the rich history, cultures, and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities—right here in Central Ohio and across the country. Your stories, resilience, and achievements help shape the fabric of our nation and inspire a stronger future.
As a @demwomencaucus.bsky.social member Mother’s Day is about more than flowers and sweets for me. It’s about fighting FOR moms — as Trump continuously attacks their ability to care for their children by gutting Head Start, food assistance and more to fund billionaire tax cuts. Not on my watch.
💐 Happy Mother's Day! To every mother, grandmother, bonus mom, and mother figure out there: thank you for your unwavering love, your resilience, and your care. You are the heart, the strength, and the steady hands of our communities.💐
This #PublicServiceRecognitionWeek, I’m celebrating federal workers—the engine of our democracy. You power the programs, protections, and progress that keep government working for the people. You bring our laws to life and provide stability across administrations. THANK YOU. 🇺🇸
I was deeply honored to be named the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by NAWBO Columbus —an unexpected and truly meaningful surprise. Thank you, NAWBO, for building a sisterhood where women are empowered, equipped, and elevated!
Trump just fired Dr. Carla Hayden—the first Black woman Librarian of Congress—by email. No explanation. No respect. Her leadership was game-changing. Her dismissal is a disgrace.

Today, I blasted Sec. Bessent for failing to answer a simple question: What's the status of the Harriet Tubman $20 bill? He brushed me off with “my staff will get back to you." The people deserve answers, and I'm determined to get them.  See the full exchange 🎥⤵️
Proud to host the 2nd Annual Financial Education Resource Fair with Rep. Young Kim. From saving to investing, we brought free tools to the Capitol—because financial literacy is the first step to building wealth.
Today, on #NationalNursesDay, we honor the heart and hustle of nurses everywhere. Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of talking with the National Black Nurses Association to thank them for all the hard work they do, saving lives with their compassionate care!
Today we honor the resilience, culture, and history of the Mexican people. Cinco de Mayo is more than a celebration — it’s a reminder of the strength found in unity and the power of standing up for freedom and dignity. ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
This week, I had the pleasure of attending the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony, honoring the leadership and service of the ‘Six Triple Eight’ women. A sincere congratulations to my friend, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social, on bringing this long-overdue recognition to fruition.
Trump’s first 100 days in office have brought nothing but chaos and confusion for working families and other Americans. As Congressional Democrats navigate the damage on behalf of the American people, I urge all Americans to push back against this reckless, corrupt administration.
I was honored to join a special luncheon celebrating the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal to the Six Triple Eight— the only Black, all-female unit to serve in Europe during World War II. Thank you, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social, for introducing this bill that honors these incredible women!
