On the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday, we honor those who bravely crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge for civil rights and justice. Their courage pushed our nation closer to its promise of democracy and the right to vote for all. I am proud to carry their legacy forward in my work in Congress.
Trump’s rash actions in Iran have launched us into a costly war that has already taken the lives of brave American troops abroad. His overreach can't go unchecked - that's why I voted for the War Powers Resolution. Only Congress has the power to declare war.🔗More here: https://bit.ly/4btJ53O

It’s clear: ICE, as an institution, is fundamentally broken, and the harm it has caused is already too great. I'm introducing a bill demanding urgent reform - before more people are hurt. 🔗More here: https://bit.ly/3OYVjso
This weekend, I was proud to have been recognized at the Shades of Melanin Awards Gala with the inaugural “Our Voice” Award. Thank you to the Executive Board of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Theta Omega Alumni Chapter, for convening this powerful evening.
Happy Women’s History Month! From Congress, faith communities, local businesses, and more, women have contributed to every corner of our community. As your representative and a proud member of @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, I'm committed to championing policies that put women's well-being first.
Please see my statement below on the recent military strikes against Iran.
It is a privilege to introduce this resolution honoring my lifelong friend and mentor: Lieutenant Colonel Charity Adams-Earley - a trailblazer in every sense of the word. I am proud to partner with Rep. Mike Turner to honor her sacrifice. 🔗More here: https://bit.ly/4l97Sxl

The State of our Union is WEAK under Trump. He started a war on working families by destroying critical programs and letting Republicans gut healthcare. He also refused to apologize for his racist video depicting the Obamas as apes. It's despicable. 🔗Watch the full hit here: https://bit.ly/3OD4rCU
The SAVE America Act: This isn’t election security. It’s voter suppression. Half of Americans don’t have a passport, so Republicans want to charge you $130 just to exercise a constitutional right. Married women will be found ineligible if their documents do not match their new name.
70 million women changed their names when they got married. Under the SAVE America Act, their birth certificate won’t match their ID. So now getting married could cost you your vote. So much for family values Republicans!
Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. So if there’s a shutdown, that’s on them. We’re asking for basic accountability: respect the Fourth Amendment, get a warrant before entering someone’s home, protect schools and hospitals, and investigate agents who break the law.
On corruption: A House Judiciary investigation found the Trump family built an $11.6 billion crypto empire that generated more than $800 million in its first year alone.
I chose to not attend Trump’s State of the Union — and here’s why. Ohio families deserve truth, accountability, and leadership that protects their rights and their wallets. Click to watch my full remarks on YouTube. 🎥

Ranking Member @repmaxinewaters.bsky.social and @repbeatty.bsky.social sent a letter to the International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, applauding the IMF’s recent efforts to strengthen governance and anti-corruption safeguards in its lending programs.

Today in 1942, Executive Order 9066 led to the wrongful incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans. A 1982 congressional study found it was driven by “race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership.” We remember and reject today’s fear-driven policies repeating this injustice.
I toured the Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s Eastland Prosperity Center. Opening this fall, this new hub will serve 100K people each year with free fresh food, SNAP enrollment, health care and more at a time when so much is less affordable. Ohio families deserve support that meets the moment.
