Congratulations, Wexner Medical on your new hospital! 🎉 This new facility will provide world-class health care services, some of which are only found at Ohio State. Thank you, OSU and Wexner Medical, for always taking the lead on medical innovation, and transforming health care for our community.
I had the pleasure of joining OSU President Ted Carter, CEO of Wexner Medical Dr. John Warner and other professionals for the Leadership Breakfast celebrating Wexner Medical Center's new University Hospital! Thank you, Wexner Medical, for transforming health care for individuals and our community.

Tonight, the House passed the ACA tax credit extension. It's a major win for affordable health care.
But Republicans fought us every step of the way, and the fight isn't over.

Today, I stood with House Democrats for a moment of silence remembering the five-year anniversary of the violent insurrection on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Democrats will continue to hold the line on defending our democracy and decrying political violence of all kinds.
Today marks five years since January 6th, an insurrection incited by Trump, attempting to overturn a fair election. Because of the bravery of U.S. Capitol Police, democracy held. We won't forget this day, and Democrats will continue to herald the truth. Read my statement here: https://bit.ly/44YCo6k
We will not forget January 6. We remember who attacked democracy and who defended it. Thank you, U.S. Capitol Police, for your courage that day and every day. Read my full statement here: https://bit.ly/44YCo6k

Statement on Today’s Trump Administration Actions in Venezuela.
As we welcome 2026, I’m wishing you a healthy and prosperous New Year. This past year asked much of our community, and still Ohio’s Third District showed strength and resolve. Thank you for staying engaged and lifting your voice. Together, we move forward with hope!
In a year when progress depended on persistence, our work focused on advocacy, accountability, and elevating the voices of Ohio’s Third District. Engagement matters. See how we met this moment together in the 2025 Year in Review edition of The Beatty Bulletin. Click🔗here: https://bit.ly/2025YRREV
So pleased to join yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony for The Scarborough, a new senior affordable housing property in Columbus. In partnership with HUD, Trinity Baptist, Nix Development Company, and the City of Columbus, this community will provide much-needed housing for Columbus' seniors.
I joined Rev. Al Sharpton on PoliticsNation to explain why Trump’s Kennedy Center rename attempt is illegal. We also discussed the systematic rollback of civil rights protections in housing and education.

Wishing all who observe a meaningful Kwanzaa. May this season uplift the values of unity, purpose, responsibility, creativity, and faith, and inspire progress grounded in community.
May the light of the season bring peace, love, and renewal to all who celebrate. Wishing you moments of reflection, hope, and joy as we welcome Christmas.
Tonight, Norm Eisen and I joined Pamela Brown to call out Trump’s unlawful attempt to rename the Kennedy Center. I’m filing a lawsuit to reverse it and stop any future renaming without Congressional approval.
