The public servants who power NSF's essential mission must have a safe, secure, and well-maintained workplace that allows them to effectively serve the public – and our community remains the ideal location. 6/6

This relocation comes at a time when, at President Trump’s direction, NSF is reeling from mass firings of staff and clumsy grant cancellations and freezes that harm our national interests.
Harming NSF’s work will directly harm people across this country. 5/
I agree that HUD employees need a facility that provides a safe environment and reflects the value of their service.
As a proud Alexandrian, I'm happy to welcome federal agencies into our community, but this proposed move raises serious concerns about the future of NSF. 4/
NSF is a crown jewel of our government, driving innovation and scientific breakthroughs that are essential to America’s economy, security, and global leadership.
Its public servants deserve a safe, well-maintained workplace that allows them to effectively serve the public. 3/
I will continue to do all I can to protect NSF’s legacy of scientific advancement, support its incredible staff, and ensure they have the resources they need with a minimum of disruption.
That means its headquarters must remain in our community, where it belongs. 2/

Three years after the Dobbs decision, millions of American women are banned from getting the reproductive health care they need.
On today's Democratic Daily Download, @chu.house.gov explains how House Democrats are fighting to restore reproductive freedom.
3 years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating a constitutional right women had for over 50 years. While the extreme GOP continues to seek every tool to legislate women’s bodies, Democrats are fighting to protect access to lifesaving medical care.
Unfortunately, our Governor and his allies have failed to defend our Commonwealth from these hits to our economy, and even cheered them on.
Putting politics and party loyalty over Virginians and our economic security is a failure of leadership.

Unless courts intervene, some of the largest firings and cuts will take effect in months to come, which would worsen the damage for Virginians. 6/
Sustained damage to Virginia’s economy – including this Administration’s mass firings of workers, terminations of key contracts, freezes of medical research funding, and attacks on our educational and research institutions – is bound to have an impact. 5/
Today’s data shows we are now clearly moving in the wrong direction under current leadership. These gathering economic storm clouds are unfortunate but not surprising for anyone who reads the news. 4/
Governor Youngkin inherited a strong economy rebounding from recession with growth and job gains, and a 2.7% unemployment rate that most states could only envy.
