ICYMI: I joined the SEEC Institute Climate Solutions Summit last week to moderate a discussion on the future of agriculture and participate in a permitting reform panel. Forums like this are how we stay connected to real solutions and the people building them.
Support to our farmers should better reflect the choices farmers are making now, not decades ago. A mandatory base acre update would save taxpayers billions of dollars. This is the definition of common-sense policy.
Congratulations to Charlotte Lin — this year's Congressional Art Competition winner. I was excited to welcome her and her family to the U.S. Capitol, where her art will be displayed for the next year. Congratulations, Charlotte. 🎨
Eleven years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed what we already knew – that love is love, and every American has the right to marry freely. I will keep working to defend these hard fought freedoms and protect the LGBTQ+ community every step of the way.
13 years ago today, the Supreme Court gutted Section 5 of the VRA in Shelby County v. Holder — making it easier to put up barriers between voters and the ballot box. The right to vote is the foundation of our democracy and I’ll keep fighting to restore it.
Farmers throughout the Midwest are paying into a crop insurance system without seeing a fair return on their investment. I discussed this pressing issue with USDA Under Secretary Fordyce and received a commitment that the Administration will brief Congress on how the costs are calculated.
USW Local 7-1 workers have done everything right. BP is the one standing in the way. It’s time to end this lockout, get back to the bargaining table, and negotiate a fair deal that respects the workers who keep the Whiting refinery running.
Today, I spoke at the 29th Congressional Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Expo about how high power bills are weighing folks down. As the co-lead of a new working group focused on gas and utility affordability, it’s clear the American people need immediate relief and we’re going to deliver.
It was great meeting with the machinists from the East Metro Local 660 yesterday. We talked about the cost of living in the Metro East, including health care, as well as the importance of passing key labor bills like the Faster Labor Contracts Act and the PRO Act.
I was proud to stand with Rep. Mrvan and members of the USW to demand BP do right by USW Local 7-1. It’s past time they end the lockout and deliver the agreement these workers have earned.
Trade deals should work for workers — not just corporations. That’s why I joined the BlueGreen Alliance to push for a USMCA renegotiation that prioritizes American manufacturing, fair labor standards, and a cleaner planet for the next generation.

Last night, Republicans blocked 11 amendments offered by New Dem Members to the Energy & Water appropriations bill from being considered. These would've provided concrete steps towards addressing energy affordability. Statement from New Dem Vice Chair for Policy @budzinski.house.gov.
Yesterday, I spent a great morning at the SEEC Solutions Summit — moderating a discussion on the future of agriculture and joining a permitting reform panel. If Congress wants to be serious about innovation and environmental stewardship, forums like this are how we get the policy right.
Today marks four years since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Let’s be clear: reproductive care is health care. As a member of the @reprocaucus.bsky.social, I will continue fighting for access to reproductive health care without barriers and shame.
