We packed a lot in this weekend in Bend – a town hall, site visits, and lunch at a small business! Now, back to DC to hold Speaker Johnson accountable for failing to put legislation on the floor to lower costs and make life better for Oregonians.
Got questions about how we’re challenging Trump in the courts? Come by my legal town hall with AG Dan Rayfield tomorrow morning! I look forward to seeing you there.
Last week, AG Dan Rayfield sued the Trump admin over tariffs impacting our state. This Saturday, I’ll be joining him at the OSU Cascades Campus for a town hall. Join us for a conversation about our work to lower costs and stand up for Oregonians.
When I came to Congress, one of my top priorities was tacking the affordability crisis. The GOP majority controls which bills come to the floor and so far, Speaker Johnson has not brought a single bill to the floor to lower the cost of living.
It has been 119 days of the 119th Congress, and I’ve yet to have the chance to vote on a bill that lowers costs for Oregonians. So I wrote to him, with the support of 31 other new members – we're fed up.

I’m so excited to announce Ren Suo, a high schooler from Estacada, as the winner of the Congressional Art Competition from #OR05. Her piece, “Waiting,” blew our office away, and I can’t wait to see it hanging in the halls of the Capitol. Check it out!
Trump and House Republicans are stealing money out of the pockets of the American people. I won't stand for it.
Trump told us he was going to lower costs on Day 1… But we’re still waiting! On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @bynum.house.gov explains how instead of making life better, Trump and the House GOP are stripping food assistance and health care from millions of Americans.
Today is #InternationalWorkersDay, and I'm shouting out our unions! Thank you for all your work to fight for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. As a member of the @laborcaucus.house.gov, I've got your back.
I’m a mom of a 14 year old boy, so I know quite a bit about video games. The video game world is a whole digital marketplace – so let’s treat it like one. My amendment would put basic safeguards in place to protect our kids’ (and parents’) wallets. 🧵6/6
Republicans are trying to cut an agency that plays a huge role in protecting student borrowers and their families. We should be doing everything we can to support students working toward their future, not making it easier for bad actors to take advantage of them. 🧵3/6
The CFPB’s work keeps my constituents’ hard-earned money where it belongs: in their pockets. Unless I see proof that funding cuts won’t change that, I won’t get behind rolling back its powers. 🧵2/6
I'm focused on lowering costs and protecting American families. The bills we reviewed today and @ushousefsc.bsky.social do the opposite. I introduced five amendments that actually address issues we came here to work on. Watch below ⬇️ 🧵1/6
President Scholz stopped by for a conversation about how @uoregon.bsky.social is navigating funding cuts while keeping students safe and supported. Thanks for stopping by, and for all your hard work to keep your Ducks in a row 🦆
I’m an engineer by trade, which makes me a #WomanInSTEM 🔬⚙️ Spoke with some amazing young women about how we can and should train and recruit more women for careers in cybersecurity and other STEM fields.
I met the Central Catholic High School Constitution Team on their way back from DC after competing in the We the People National Invitational competition. Now, they're leaving DC as national champions! Way to represent Oregon, and Go Rams!
It’s been 100 days of the Trump admin throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. That includes tariffs, which are already hurting Oregon families and businesses. I’m fighting back with my Protecting Families From Inflation Act.
