Black women are 3x more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause. During Black Maternal Health Week, we raise awareness and take action to end our maternal health crisis. Proud to work with House Democrats to pass the #Momnibus, end this crisis, and improve outcomes for Black moms nationwide.
The essence of Christianity is about humility, not verbal toxicity. It is about uncommon sacrifice and service, not personal vanity and self-worship. It is not about bellicosity, but the practice of radical generosity. The president insults Christians around the world with this blasphemous post.
I’m not sure it has broken through to the general public that the president is a megalomaniac crazy person. Hopefully posts like this help.
Trump TS post featuring an illustration of himself as a Christian faith healer
On Yom HaShoah, we honor the 6 million innocent Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust, and we recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism with fierce urgency and resolve. May their memories always be a blessing.
Inflation skyrocketing. Real disposable personal income declining. Economic growth slowing. These are the results of the president’s reckless economic policies and illegal war of choice in the Middle East.
Consumer prices jumped 0.9% in March as Iran war sent gas prices soaring “The annual rate of inflation hit 3.3%, led by a 21.2% increase for gasoline — the largest one-month increase at the pump since 1967.” www.nbcnews.com/business/eco...
The President and Republicans in Congress have driven up costs through their reckless tariffs, ripped healthcare away from hardworking families, and started another war in the Middle East that has led to soaring gas prices. It’s no wonder Americans are dissatisfied.
U.S. consumer sentiment has fallen to the lowest level ever recorded. Sentiment declined across all age, income, and political demographic groups.
The president’s war of choice has claimed the lives of 13 U.S. service members and thousands of Iranians, engulfed the Middle East region into conflict, sent gas prices skyrocketing, and damaged our economy. Families are already paying the price for Trump’s war.
Whether it is the reckless trade wars closing off markets or the illegal war in Iran driving up costs, the administration’s chaotic policies are crushing American farmers. They deserve better.
Iowa farmer: A lot of farmer discouragement out there. Prices of our soybeans started going down. Prices of fertilizer going up. For a year, we've seen some real chaos. The cost of diesel has soared since the war began. So many farms are reporting that they're on the brink of something bad.
The president’s policies were already driving up costs before he started a war with Iran that caused oil prices to nearly double. As hardworking families struggle to stay afloat, Congress must rein in this administration before more damage is done.
Inflation pressures were firming before the war. The core PCE index rose 0.37% in February and was +3.0% on the year. The 6-month annualized rate was +3.4%, the highest since June 2024, before the Fed began to cut rates. The 3-month annualized rate was +4.4%, the highest since March 2024.
That also does not account for the lives lost, the taxpayer dollars wasted, the depletion of our munitions, and the higher gas prices crushing American families. The president’s reckless and illegal war has been a complete failure.
The Trump administration wants to spend another $200 billion in the war with Iran, but they refuse to take care of veterans here at home. Congress should restore these housing benefits that keep men and women who served our nation in their homes.
More than 10,000 veterans lost their homes to foreclosure since May of last year, when the Trump admin shut down a key safety net in the VA home loan program, according to the latest industry data. That is the highest pace of foreclosures for VA loans in a decade.
Last year, Republicans gutted American health care programs to fund more tax cuts for the wealthiest among us. Then, they allowed the expiration of ACA tax credits that help working-class families afford health care. Now, one third of Americans are having to choose between food and health care.
About one third of Americans say they have skipped meals, borrowed money, or cut back on utilities to pay for health care. That's in a Gallup poll released in March. cbsn.ws/4sT3ZzD
I completely agree with @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social. The Republican shutdown of DHS has gone on long enough. The Speaker should immediately call the House back into session to vote on the bipartisan proposal that will fund these agencies and pay federal employees.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Sunday called on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to bring the lower chamber back from recess to reopen the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Missouri families are already struggling with rising energy costs due to the president’s reckless war in Iran. Now, the administration wants to make matters worse by slashing investments in energy assistance programs. I won’t stand for it. thehill.com/policy/energ...
