www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/u... Taking a stand against the authoritarianism! Right on Harvard! And Trump isn’t against antisemitism, it’s a way to use a righteous cause to fight “liberal” universities who hire well educated and worldly profs & researchers, a group not attracted to ego driven bullies

Secretary Noem has had plenty of time for cowboy cosplay and prison photo ops in El Salvador—but not to answer my basic questions about ICE detentions and deportations. Who’s being held? Why? Where is ANY shred of due process? This isn’t tough-on-crime. It’s lawless, cowardly, and un-American.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @ivey.house.gov discusses how Kilmar Abrego Garcia was illegally deported by the Trump Administration, denied due process and sent to an infamous prison in El Salvador. The court has ordered him to be returned and this Administration must comply without delay.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

www.nytimes.com/2025/04/03/u... Trump is using antisemitism to appeal to Jews and to get at his educated opposition in the Ivy schools, which his base detests. If he really wanted to go after antisemitism, he’d go after the KKK neo-Nazis proud boys but no, “They’re fine people on both sides.”

Last night was Zelensky and the truth about Russia invasion and Russian talking points being used in America as well as Greenland people speaking against Trump’s takeover/buyout deal. Today at his Press Conf.he said @CNN was unpatriotic and against America. THIS IS AUTHORITARIANISM AT ITS WORST !
Trump says CBS should "lose their license" or at least be hit with "the maximum fines and punishment" for airing "60 Minutes" segments that included criticism of him, the latest example of seeking to use government power to crack down on independent media. thehill.com/media/524748...
This Trump press conference is the most pitiful press conference by a United States president—EVER! Shows no humanity, compassion or humility or being at all tethered to truth and reality.Hung up on Biden and Obama.Pathetic.He still claims 2020 election was rigged. He resents Zelensky, a brave leader!
Trump has hurt the stock market (401k’s),damaged our reputation among allies and other nations, destroying our nations safety net, abandoned fight to save Earth from climate change and weakening our democracy. What more can the felon, sex offender and liar in chief do to screw up our world?

Trump is ripping up the Constitution and seizing power from Congress to advance his agenda: powers of the purse, dismantling agencies Congress has jurisdiction over & more. And the GOP—the same ones who claim to care about the Constitution—are just rolling over for him. That's how democracy dies. ⬇️
The Trump admin opened a backdoor to exempt companies from the Clean Air Act—with ZERO public notice or accountability. I led 59 colleagues with @markey.senate.gov demanding the names of every company that applied. Who’s trying to pollute behind closed doors? We deserve to know. We will find out.
Trump isn’t a king. He doesn’t get taxpayer funded tanks and fighter jets for turning 79. If he wants a birthday party, he can have cake—or bingo—on his own dime. My HAPPY BIRTHDAY Budget Act would stop him from wasting tax dollars on a military parade. That's for authoritarians, not US presidents.

Republicans just paved the way for the largest cut to America's social safety net in history—billions stolen from SNAP & Medicaid, from children, the disabled, and seniors. All to make the rich even richer. It's theft in broad daylight. I voted NO. Full remarks from the House floor last night ⬇️
I wrote Secretary Noem on Feb. 14 asking for basic answers the American people deserve to know: -Who is being picked up by ICE? -Have they been convicted of violent crimes? -What jurisdictions are involved? -How many have been sent to Guantanamo Bay? 2 months of complete silence says quite a lot.
