Private #StudentLoans should be dischargeable in bankruptcy like they were before 2005. No one chooses bankruptcy lightly but it should be a safety net so people aren't trapped in debt for life. To restore fairness for borrowers, I reintroduced the Private Student Loan Bankruptcy Fairness Act.
President Biden's move to lift Cuba’s state sponsor of terrorism designation is the right call & long overdue. Trump's 2021 designation was baseless. The Castros are gone—it’s time to build on Obama-era progress, and Trump shouldn't reverse this step and take us back to a Cold War mindset.
President Biden notified Congress of his intent to lift the U.S. label of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism as part of a deal aided by the Catholic Church to free political prisoners on the island.
The TVA was created by Congress, it's home to the nation's highest paid federal employee, but for years they've been exempt from disclosing info on their highest-paid employees. That has to end, and tonight my bipartisan TVA Salary Transparency Act passed the House by a unanimous vote of 423-0.
I commend President Biden, Sec. Blinken & NatSec Advisor Jake Sullivan for their many long hours of negotiations to secure this latest #ceasefire in Israel & Palestine. It's a step toward bringing hostages home, and will provide safety for innocent people in Gaza. I hope it leads to lasting peace.

Donald Trump will use his 2nd term to bury the full extent of Special Counsel Smith's findings and shield his accomplices. I wrote to AG Garland urging him to act NOW: drop the charges against Nauta & De Oliveira, release the report, and let the truth see the light of day. Time is running out.

Corruption fuels authoritarian dictatorships, human rights abuses, & global instability—fighting it should be at the core of US foreign policy. As a senior member of the US Helsinki Commission, that’s why I reintroduced the Combating Global Corruption Act today to hold corrupt actors accountable.

I have let my position be known to the Biden administration and others of influence that Merrick Garland act immediately to have the special counsel’s report on the classified documents case released to the public. It can be done but it will take immediate action by the DOJ.Trust/transparency!NOW
It’s not clear if Melania’s hand was heading in the area of her heart as it only was around stomach level or if she was simply getting her hand away from Donalds

Yes, he shouldn’t be on the court, but if he resigns Trump will probably appoint a Cannon fool and Florida who is much younger and much more of a supplicant well, maybe the same amount of a supplicant
AG Garland needs to dismiss case against 2 remaining defendants in Trump classified records case and then release Smiths report on January 19. Trumps’ AG will dismiss cases but not the report. ACT NOW!
