(4/6) I want to be clear: Republicans are pulling a reverse Robin Hood — taking from the most vulnerable and giving to the rich. Interest rates are rising, grocery prices are skyrocketing, and Trump’s tariffs have created chaos.

(3/6) SNAP provides support for millions of seniors, veterans, children, and working parents across the country, including 96K people in my district. At least 3 million people across the country will lose access to these critical SNAP benefits.
(2/6) Nearly 150K Texans in my district rely on Medicaid for their healthcare, and health insurance costs for nearly 90K people who have coverage under the ACA in my district will see a 78% increase in their premiums.
🧵 (1/6)The Republican budget bill that just passed the House is a direct attack on Texas working families, kids, seniors, and women. All Democrats, including me, voted against this bill because it will be disastrous for the country.
I am saddened and horrified by this violent, hateful attack at the Capital Jewish Museum and the death of two Israeli embassy staff members.
My condolences to their loved ones and to the people of Israel.

Update from me ahead of the Republican’s budget bill. Let me say this: As a cancer survivor I know exactly what’s at stake when it comes to cutting Americans’ healthcare coverage. We’re going to keep fighting!

Gerry was a great statesman and an effective legislator—and most importantly, a very good man. I will miss him and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who loved him.
Gerry Connolly was a fierce public servant, a friend to all who knew and worked with him during his nearly 40 years of service to the country.
And it’s not just children. It’s seniors, women, and folks with disabilities. And let’s be clear—SNAP is not a handout or fraud. It’s $6 a day.
In Texas, SNAP helps feed more than a million children. If Republicans cut SNAP, it will devastate families who are already living paycheck to paycheck trying to afford food as prices go up.
We will do our work and not be intimidated by these authoritarian tactics!
The charges against Rep. McIver are baseless and politically motivated. The Congresswoman was doing her job and conducting lawful oversight. But Trump’s DOJ has begun targeting and punishing anyone, including elected officials, who work to hold the Trump Administration accountable.
President Biden is a fighter—and this moment is no different. I’m sending prayers to him and his family as he faces this diagnosis, but I know he will tackle this challenge with the same tenacity and grace he has shown throughout his career and his life. We stand with you, Mr. President.

I joined @jimacosta.bsky.social on his show yesterday to discuss my trip to Northern Mexico, where I met with an 11-year-old U.S. citizen with a brain tumor and her family. They were deported with no due process.
I am sending my prayers and condolences to the families of the Mexican cadets who died in yesterday’s tragic accident. My thoughts are also with those who were injured—I wish them a speedy recovery.

Many of the major changes Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service pushed at Social Security have been abandoned or are being reversed after proving ineffective, while others are yielding unintended consequences and badly damaging customer service and satisfaction.
This is sick. Under the Trump Administration we lose more of our humanity every day.

Three hours of air-traffic control with no break—then suddenly a few seconds to stop a midair collision. He won't stay quiet anymore.
“I don’t want to be responsible for killing 400 people,” he said in an exclusive interview.

We’ll keep fighting for all the hardworking folks—including the disabled and seniors who need long term nursing home care—who rely on Medicaid.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
