During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we honor the bravery of survivors of domestic violence. If you or a loved one is a victim of domestic violence, call the 24-hour National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
Trump's Pentagon has pushed out every major news outlet in America — from CNN to Fox News. This is yet another alarming attack on free speech and transparency. Americans deserve to know what their military is doing and I call on the Trump admin to reverse course immediately.
I'm in Washington with my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues because we're ready to negotiate a bipartisan solution that reopens the government and saves Americans' health care. Vacation time is over, House GOP — let’s get back to work.
After two years of unimaginable suffering and loss, I am deeply grateful and relieved to see the remaining hostages reunited with their families and loved ones. May this moment serve as a turning point toward lasting peace, stability, and a safer future for both Israel and Gaza.
Starting on Oct 15th, our troops will start missing paychecks because of the Republican government shutdown. Military families shouldn't have to worry about putting food on the table or making rent. I’m joining @repgabevasquez.bsky.social in calling on Speaker Johnson to protect our troops' pay. ⬇️
🚨 Republicans chose to shut down the government instead of protecting Americans’ access to affordable health care. If Republicans let the tax credits that make health care more affordable expire, 35,000 people on the Central Coast could see their coverage costs skyrocket.
We continue to mourn the innocent lives lost and pray for the families still waiting for their loved ones to return home. I continue to call for the return of all hostages, a surge of aid into Gaza, and for a permanent peace plan to end this war and bring stability to the region.
The Republican shutdown is starting to hit right here at home on the Central Coast. Thousands of civilian workers at Naval Base Ventura County and Vandenberg Space Force Base are being forced into furloughs or working without pay—while their families and our national security hang in the balance.
By refusing to undo their health care cuts, Republicans are driving up premiums, cutting care options, & raising costs. Our veterans answered the call to serve. They deserve better than this chaos.
This Republican shutdown isn’t just dysfunction in Washington — it’s a direct threat to our veterans. ➡️ 1.6M veterans rely on Medicaid ➡️ 1.3M rely on Medicare
I joined Rep. Pat Ryan and my fellow Democratic veterans in condemning Donald Trump’s alarming remarks to U.S. military officers. Suggesting our troops should be deployed against the American people isn’t just unprecedented and unconstitutional — it’s un-American and dangerous.
Today is #Day1 of the Republican shutdown. My office will remain open to continue serving all those on the Central Coast — so please do not hesitate to contact us for any & all assistance. DC Office: (202) 225-3601 SB Office: (805) 730-1710 SLO Office: (805) 546-8348 Ventura Office: (805) 730-1710
Republicans have driven our country into a government shutdown because of their failure to govern. Central Coast, I know many of you are wondering what this means for you, your families, and our community. 🔗 Head to: Carbajal.House.Gov/Shutdown for more info.
This is complete and utter partisan propaganda coming from the Trump admin. Newsflash: our "wish list" is actually just the bare minimum to protect health care, food assistance, and housing for the American people.
Tomorrow, government funding runs out. Trump and Republicans have chosen chaos over compromise, threatening our workers, families, and economy. A shutdown will be their responsibility — and the American people will remember.
