For too long, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) have operated unchecked, raising prices and preventing many patients from getting medications they depend on.
I introduced the PBM Reform Act to protect patients and pharmacies from harmful PBM practices.

Have you seen wild turkeys? I know I have… usually strutting in my yard.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is asking the public to report sightings. It only takes a few minutes and helps support our turkey population's health.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @friedman.house.gov breaks down the top three things you need to know about the Republicans’ One Big, Ugly Bill — from kicking 17 million off their health care to making life harder for parents, all to fund tax breaks for the ultra-rich.
Federally appropriated funds have been withheld from school districts nationwide, including over $156 million from Michigan. Once again, this administration is undermining Congress’s power of the purse, this time at the expense of our children’s education.

Missing John a little extra today. Happy birthday to the man I will always love.

In today’s Democratic Daily Download, @amo.house.gov calls out Republicans for cutting millions of Americans’ health insurance, food assistance and access to higher education, while driving energy costs through the roof.
I hate to agree with Elon Musk, but on EVs, he has it right.
To compete in a global marketplace we must make sure our domestic auto industry is strong, which requires certainty not chaos.
Nearly two and a half centuries ago, our nation was born with a promise of liberty and justice for all. This Independence Day, we remember the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedoms as we seek to make that promise come true for all Americans.
When your grandparents’ nursing home closes and they can no longer afford long term care, remember Republicans cheered.
This bill is a complete and total failure. The American people overwhelmingly disagree with it, and will not forget those who chose to vote for this cruelty.

Just took to the House Floor to speak in support of a country where everyone can afford to live the good life.
And in strong opposition to Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill that is devastating to everyday Americans.
We will not be silenced.

We must continue making our voices heard. We only need 4 Republicans to join Democrats to vote this bill down. Every single Democrat will vote NO, including myself.

All of this to give almost a trillion dollars of tax cuts to the top 1%. People making over $1 million will receive an average tax cut of at least $80,000 a year while the bottom 20% of families will see their taxes rise.

It adds $4 trillion to the debt. This includes $700 billion in interest payments alone. It will cause our debt to rise to as much as 127% of our GDP by 2034, threatening to bankrupt our country and mortgaging our children’s futures.

The devastating cuts to clean energy will cause families to pay an average of $400 more per year. Seniors and low-income people will also have an even harder time getting assistance to pay their energy bills.

Red tape requirements will cause 5 million people to lose food assistance and put tens of millions of kids at risk of losing school breakfast and lunch.

This bill leaves kids, seniors, people with disabilities, & veterans to go hungry. It cuts SNAP by 20%, while forcing states to cover more of SNAP’s cost, which could lead to dozens of states eliminating SNAP entirely.
