More than three million Pennsylvanians count on Medicaid and CHIP for health care - and the jobs of millions more in every corner of the commonwealth depend on health care. House Democrats are urging our U.S. Congressional Delegation to put people ahead of politics.
Couldn't have said it better myself. And it’s not just a first step when it includes a $4,000,000,000,000 debt limit increase. Every House Democrat voted NO last night, while all but 1 of the House Republicans voted YES for this disastrous legislation.
Response from @DOGEai_gov. Text says: "D.C. elites want $4.5T tax cuts for billionaires by gutting Medicaid for 36M Americans & SNAP for 9M families.

$880B stolen from healthcare, $230B from food aid—all for mega-donors.

Veterans & seniors get crumbs while oligarchs feast. Pure swamp corruption."
House Republicans’ reckless budget scheme would slash Medicaid, undermine veterans' benefits, and take food away from children and seniors. Why? To pay for handouts to their billionaire donors. If this legislation comes to the floor, I will be voting NO.
Graphic. Top half is a cream-colored background with a black and white photo of Speaker Mike Johnson looking solemn. Top text says: "House Republicans Want To: Strip health care coverage from nearly 250,000 people who rely on Medicaid in PA-03, Increase food costs for the 238,000 people who count on SNAP in PA-03." Bottom half is a black background with a red tinted photo of Elon Musk scheming. Lower text says: "To Pay For: 2 trillion in handouts to billionaire donors and big corporations."
It will take everyone working on all fronts, as we continue fighting back against the unlawful actions of the Musk/Trump Administration. The minority in Congress doesn’t have the ability to file lawsuits but we’ll keep using tools we do have! (2/2)

It is quite literally mathematically impossible to achieve $880 billion in Energy & Commerce cuts without huge cuts to health coverage. There is not close enough money they oversee that isn’t health coverage. They are coming for your health care - all as a way to help pay for tax cuts for the rich.
Pretty incredible how much the GOP has taken to just completely lying about their agenda. They reconciled $880 billion in Energy & Commerce cuts! There’s only $200 billion in Energy & Commerce that’s not health coverage! Arrington’s own documents say they want to gut Medicaid! Just own it.

INSIDE THE HOUSE GOP MEETING. The message from House Republican leadership is that no cuts are specified in this budget resolution. Scalise said Medicaid is not mentioned once in this bill.
Of course, $880B of cuts from E&C is in the bill.
SCALISE also did a side-by-side with the Senate resolution, noting that their resolution doesn't include anything on taxes, has less on border/ energy and does not account for DOGE savings.
Also - notes that the senate bill doesn't deal with debt limit.
An unelected billionaire donor does not have the legal authority to fire our dedicated civil servants via tweet.   I joined 100+ of my Democratic colleagues in urging federal agencies to send out immediate guidance clarifying employees DO NOT have to respond to a likely unlawful email.
This country is fed up with the wrecking ball Elon Musk and Donald Trump are taking to essential government services. Federal agencies need to regain order right now by telling employees they do NOT have to respond to Elon Musk's absurd email.
Democrats created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to protect hard-working Americans’ money. Republicans dismantling the CFPB will just allow scammers, big corporations & Wall Street to rip people off without any consequences.
When Wells Fargo wrongfully foreclosed Americans' homes, the CFPB held them accountable. When Bank of America flooded families with illegal fees, it got their money back. The CFPB stands up to corruption on behalf of working people. That's why Republicans want to "delete" it.
Good morning. This week Republicans in the House may take a vote to advance their budget plan. That budget plan would: - Cut Medicaid by about $1 trillion - Cut food stamps - Spend trillions on tax cuts mostly for the rich and corporations - Add trillions to the national debt
This week, the late John Lewis would have turned 85. A dear friend and a hero of mine, it was a privilege to work alongside him in Congress. As we honor his legacy, let us continue fighting for justice for ALL and making some "good trouble" in the process.

Firing 7,000 IRS employees in the middle of tax filing season won't make the system more "efficient." But it WILL make it easier for Trump's donor buddies to cheat on their taxes. Once again, Republicans would rather help their billionaire friends than hard-working Americans.
Next week, House Republicans plan to hold a vote on their budget resolution, which will likely lead to substantial Medicaid cuts. I vehemently oppose cuts to Medicaid. If this legislation comes to the floor, I will vote NO. #DontCutMyMedicaid
From sending business supplies to life-saving medication to letters from loved ones, the USPS provides a crucial service ALL Americans rely on. I oppose Trump's attempt to dismantle this independent agency – this would be another wild overreach of his constitutional authority.
Breaking news: Trump is preparing to dissolve the leadership of the U.S. Postal Service and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration, potentially throwing the mail provider and trillions of dollars of ecommerce transactions into turmoil.
