Oversight work is important. Elected officials must use that power to enter these facilities & shine a light on the conditions. It can help strengthen lawsuits nationwide as it did here. The fight isn't over, the state will probably appeal. But this is a major victory.

AFA Flight Attendants joined Rep. Maxwell Frost this week for a roundtable discussion about the Safe Air on Airplanes Act. We are proud to support the legislation, introduced this week, to take critical steps toward ensuring the air we breathe at work is safe for everyone.
AFA Flight Attendants join
Rep. Maxwell Frost for roundtable discussion of the
Safe Air on Airplanes Act
The Safe Air on Airplanes Act would secure clean air on airplanes to ensure the safety of the nearly 3 million people including flight crews and passengers that fly daily.

Specifically, the Safe Air on Airplanes Act would work to phase out bleed air systems which currently exist on almost all commercial aircrafts and supply the air we breathe through the engine’s compressors.
“The issue of contaminated bleed air is well documented and a serious risk for the health of crew and passengers, if not addressed. No one should get sick because the air on our planes becomes contaminated with poisons.

“For decades, Flight Attendants have been demanding action to fix air bleed systems and protect Flight Attendants, pilots, and passengers from toxic fumes.

“Rep. Frost and his colleagues are demanding real solutions with this legislation to protect crew and the health and safety of the entire traveling public.” AFA President Sara Nelson
"The airlines and the manufacturers want you to believe ‘fume events’ are no big deal, but toxic air in my workplace made me dangerously sick. Instead of addressing a real hazard, the industry gaslights passengers and aviation workers.

“I am deeply grateful that Rep. Frost and this bipartisan coalition are working to force the industry to do the right thing. I hope it can pass quickly so that corporate greed can't sicken others like it has me." Cher Taylor, AFA Frontier
Registering voters at the University of Central Florida during move-in week! Perfect time to chat with new students and ensure they have a good interaction with their new Congressman 🤠
The practice of elected officials waiting till election time to Organize has and will never be enough. Year-round, supporting the local progressive ecosystem is the way to go!
Our largest class of Democracy Summer fellows has graduated! I’m very proud of this incredible group of high school + college aged young people who spent the summer Organizing, making calls, knocking on doors, & supporting local, progressive candidates.
Every Democratic state that can do this, should do this. Then, when we control the levels of power in DC, we ban gerrymandering for the entire country. Once and for all. Everyone playing by the same rules.

Packed house in Dayton this afternoon for a town hall with Maxwell Frost & Chris Murphy .. “Electric” .. folks are engaged & ready to act .. GO Dems !
This is deeply shameful. Over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to get aid in the past 8 weeks. Israel must immediately cease these shootings & lift the blockade. Congress must pass the UNRWA Funding Emergency Restoration Act to help distribute aid in Gaza www.bbc.com/news/article...

So grateful for the clear, unequivocal witness and voice of Rep. @maxwellfrost.bsky.social who visited the horrifying detention camp in Florida. As he said, “I didn’t see any Russians who’ve overstayed their visas. Only Black & Latino men who look like me.” @maddow.msnbc.com
