It was a pleasure to tour Lowes in Durham to discuss their role as a major regional employer and recent investments in local housing efforts.
Our region is feeling the strain of Trump's tariffs, and I'll keep exploring all routes to ensure that businesses in NC remain properly supported.
I had the opportunity to meet with NCCU Chancellor Dr. Karrie G. Dixon to discuss recent threats of violence against HBCUs nationwide and how Congress can better support our Minority-serving Institutions.
NCCU is a core part of our #NC04 community, and I'll always fight for its continued success.
Today marks 24 years since the horrific September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks which forever changed American history.
We will continue to stand in remembrance of the innocent lives lost and honor the endless heroism of the first responders who answered the call to danger.
From the shootings at our schools and places of worship to the recent politically-motivated killings of Charlie Kirk and lawmakers in Minnesota, it's clear that these dark days cannot continue.
The American people deserve better. Our country needs to take steps NOW to stop this. (3/3)
Yesterday was another reminder of the cruel reality of living in America. Gun violence continues to plague our communities with seemingly no end and little action from Congress—it's unacceptable.
We need to pass commonsense gun control legislation urgently. (2/3)
I am heartbroken by the news of yesterday’s shooting at Evergreen High School in Colorado.
Thank you to the first responders for their rapid response, and I am keeping the entire Evergreen community in my thoughts during this difficult time. (1/3)

Political violence and hatred have no place in our country.
I’m thankful for the rapid response from first responders, and my thoughts are with Charlie Kirk and his family during this time.
I’m pleased the Weather Act Reauthorization passed the House Science Committee markup today!
This bipartisan bill includes my & Rep. Miller’s Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act that will expand research, improve model accuracy, & support sustainable emergency readiness initiatives.
I’m outraged by this administration’s blatant disregard for DACA. Across the country, ICE & CBP continue to unlawfully detain valid DACA recipients.
I join my colleagues in defending DACA’s protections & demanding accountability. We will continue to fight until every DACA recipient is safe & free.
Happy National Aerospace Week! Over 20,000 workers in North Carolina help power America's aerospace industry, and I'll continue to support these high-skill jobs that grow our economy and support local families. #AeroWeek2025
Thank you to all the students who participated in my and @ross.house.gov's Congressional App Challenge Jumpstarter!

Trump's jobs reports are somehow getting worse: in June, America had its worst hiring level since 2021, and unemployment continues to rise.
Speaker Johnson needs to bring bills to the floor that lower costs and ensure our economy can work for everyone.

The GOP is trying to pass a partisan funding package over working with @housedemocrats.bsky.social.
If they can't find the votes for their budget, then it's their shutdown.
We'll work with anyone who will come to the table to fund our government and critical services that uplift our communities.
130 @housedemocrats.bsky.social and I are calling on Speaker Johnson to act now and protect our communities by bringing commonsense legislation to the floor. (2/2)
The GOP continues to ignore the gun violence epidemic: they've legalized automatic machine guns, ended the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, and diverted funds away from law enforcement intended to help curb gun violence. (1/2)
The GOP's Energy Bill raises energy prices for low-income households, cancels billions in new infrastructure, and abandons nuclear threat reduction efforts.
Who does this help? Trump's band of billionaires and big polluters. Who does this hurt? The rest of us.
🚨 Duke University is hosting FREE Prostate Cancer & Health Screenings in Durham.

I just signed Rep. Thomas Massie and @khanna.house.gov's discharge petition to release the Epstein files.
The survivors—and every American—deserve the truth.
As the school year begins, I want to say thank you to the over 600 new and returning #TeachForAmerica teachers entering classrooms in NC this year! I commend your continued work and effort to uplift the next generation of leaders in our nation.
While tariffs wreck the economy and prices soar, the GOP is focused on covering up the Epstein files and rigging electoral maps over delivering a proper, long-term government funding package.
Americans deserve a government that actually delivers for the people—not the top 1%.
