Today, I visited the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter and sat down with local leaders—including from NH Food Bank and Grow Nashua—to discuss how the GOP budget bill makes the biggest cuts to SNAP in history, creates barriers to services, and devastates Granite Staters already facing food insecurity.

Lucas is covered by Medicaid, which helps supplement his health care costs. Without it, his family worries that Lucas would need to be placed in a residential facility, likely located out of state. We cannot let that happen. Lucas and his family are why I am more committed to this fight than ever.
The cost of Republicans’ massive cuts to health care and Medicaid — the biggest in American history — is not hypothetical. They will be devastating to New Hampshire families like Lucas’. Lucas was born five weeks early with Down Syndrome and had several serious medical complications.
NH is home to the best of America—and that was on full display this week in our U.S. Capitol. Proud to partner with New Hampshire’s federal delegation and the New Hampshire State Society to help bring a taste of the Granite State to Congress. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! 🇺🇸
I love our country 🇺🇸, and I thank God every day for the brave men and women who serve America in uniform — past, present, and future. Today, I am thinking about and especially grateful for the women and men who have served in the United States Army since its founding 250 years ago today.

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is America’s first and finest public shipyard. I was honored to join the Change of Command Ceremony to thank outgoing Captain Michael Oberdorf and to welcome Captain Jesse Nice as he begins his tenure as the 88th Commander of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Senator Alex Padilla was doing his job — asking questions for the millions of people he represents. Instead of getting answers, he was met with force, pushed to the ground, and handcuffed. This is shocking. It is not right. It is not America.
A complete Pentagon budget is essential for the responsible use of your taxpayer dollars. Pete Hegseth was required by law to submit the budget of the Department of Defense to Congress back in February. He failed to do that. And today he refused to answer when he’ll comply with the law.
Tonight, I voted against legislation that would devastate public broadcasting. For 60+ years, Congress has supported 1,500+ locally operated public TV & radio stations, including NHPR & NH PBS. Their programming helps kids thrive in school & keeps rural communities informed in emergencies.
President Trump agreed to a ceasefire with the Houthis, a foreign terrorist organization. He said his deal would restore commercial shipping in the Red Sea. But as I heard from military leaders, that hasn’t happened—shipping remains a no-go in the Red Sea & the American people are paying the price.
